Alvin said about this song something like, If I am going to play with George who writes real melodies I guess I better get on with it and do more than wiggle my fingers about. The guitar he was most known for was Big Red his heavily self modified ES-335 which is legend on it's own. Played 335's from late 60's on.

Speaking of feel... what about Guthrie Govan? Solos on Regret #9, Ancestral or Drive Home (all Steven Wilson tracks) are a great example of emotive playing and technical abillity.

Alvin Lee - back in the day was the guitarists guitarist, a bit like Jeff Beck. We all aspired to play like Alvin, nobody could play like Jeff tho' And the picked harmonic are 'pinched' harmonics ala Billy Gibbons. Well done guys, try Gary Moore next time.
