“Alvin & the Chipmunks” Sped Up Announcement Glitch on R179 Trains - A to 96th St-2nd Ave via Q Line

Here are some videos taken on November 10, 2024, featuring the MTA NYC Subway Bombardier R179 trains running on the A line to 96th St/2nd Ave via the F and Q lines!
This service diversion was occurring because of switch replacement work around 59th St/Columbus Circle.
Very unusually, the announcements noting the A to 96th St and the downtown A via the Q/F lines was sped up, giving an “Alvin and the Chipmunks” (or "Mickey Mouse") effect.

Long Beach (CA) Transit had the same problem with some of the stop announcements on the 2400-series GE40LFs in 2010. They were later corrected.
