A couple of years ago I was driving my 66 Humber Imperial on a country road and turned into a nice pub carpark where by chance there was an Alvis car meeting . My Humber being made at the Rolls Royce Coachbuilders "Thrupp and Mabberley" and in pristine condition, a blaze of chrome and elegant styling made those guys with their Alvis's drool.

Lovely car (somewhat boring colours maybe) and it sounds excellent. However, this car does not seem to be from 1961; the dashboard is the earlier type with different heater controls and there is no headlamp dip switch on the steering column which a 1961 car would have. Furthermore it has non-original door mirrors and the bootlid handle is not original but probably the non-matching retro type from the Red Triangle catalogue. Correctly, the steering wheel should be in a "Y" position when the wheels are pointing straight forward.

+harryoakley Could all very well be as you say Harry. I do not have the knowledge to confirm your words. I am just the film guy ;-)

+John Lane I do not know what an "anarak" is - do I need that to point out that this is not a 1961 car?
