Some years ago, I had the great pleasure of meeting Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche at a private party in someone's home in the Bay Area. I found her utterly charming but after watching this video, I almost wish that we had met under more formal circumstances because listening to her is much more enlightening than conversing with her. She is the best example I know of a someone who truly spent not just one lifetime preparing for her present mission but clearly many lifetimes. People have commented on her command of language, but she also understands the cultural differences and can bridge them in a modern way, giving timelessness to the Teachings and its Protectors of the Path.

She speaks very well. I find many Buddhists have a bizarre tendency to talk with a slow voice and it is difficult to listen to for a long time. Khandro Rinpoche just speaks naturally.

Totally agree. Rinpoche can think and speak in second and third languages at least as quickly and clearly as native speakers.

Thank You Teacher. You are always so clear. That is helpful. Special thanks for explaining Sangha at the end. Since taking refuge and receiving my name from you many years ago in Baltimore I had thought that I was "rather permanently attached' to the Sangha there. Now I not only understand the relationship to Sangha but feel the departure of what has been a heavy question. Hope to have the pleasure of proximity with you at some point. --Tenpa Gyaltsen

Here is a link to a talk that Khandro Rinpoche gave called "Practicing in Times of Adversity". It is audio only. www.khandrorinpoche.org/practicing-in-times-of-adversity/ As Rinpoche says: "It is a time of unspeakable fear and disruption for most of the world. During such times of crisis and struggle which arise in our lives, our practice could be one of the first things we turn to."
You’re welcome. Thanks for your interest in Rinpoche’s teaching.

When a man is parched by thirst, the thought of water brings no relief. Only drinking can quench his thirst. Similarly, information differs from direct experience. The exhausting search for information, for mere objective knowledge, becomes needless with direct meditative experience. -- Mipham Rinpoche

Thank you making these wonderful teachings available. They are invaluable. In this first part, there is a slight skip at 51-52m and it is just where Rinpoche is going to say what the fourth collection of Nagarjuna's writings are. Please would you tell me what the fourth collection is called? Thank you.

I want to know how to get in contact with the nagas, go to the nagas mouth and hear what they have to say rather than read and interpret thousands of commentaries about what Nagarjuna had to say..I want to hear more about the Naga's..Is it legend or are these nagas real. A lot of people simply mythologise the naga's .

Generating is karma, action is karma, contemplation is karma, chance is karma, limited is karma, effort is karma. Not chance or desire, just letting go of desire. Many teachings say this. Bardo is all the time until you find the bardo. There is no merit. No vehicle. Who is me? What is I? He is still ego but for a boy he is quite learning and not worthy of a beating. What life? What resembles a human? Good? What is good? Held? Oh well, we can sleep, no Nargajuna here yet.
@AghoraNath9 жыл бұрын
In the west I see pious ego competition, I do not feel that the life is congruent with shadhana. He is being too kind slightly. For the westerner the tantrika will be the actual path, kundalini, red hair, Celtic, nothing is lost from Nargajuna, everything is gained by the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. Chogyom Trungpa has a great way for westerners. Charlatans like Tolle will be the lonely ruin of the Sanatana void of warmth and pretending ananta. I fear, that this boy, is tactful, there are many westerners buying Buddhist enlightenment and this pretence helps neither of us. Theravada, hence forth, to the earth.
