🌿Venus is just so cool, it's hard to deny that, as cute as Sasha's Y2K TLC type look is. Venus's accessories just speak to her personality and have much more creative play and pose potential than the sorta standard stuff Sasha has. I also totally agree with you that it's sus as hell how rarely we get femme black dolls. At least we have a few in the LOL OMG lineup (like Candylicious and Sweets), but they are by far the minority and I don't get it! Also this thumbnail is hilarious 😂

100% venus 🍃 i LOVE sasha, but there was a lot in general with the debut Always Bratz release that left me scratching my head. MGA feels like it's cutting back resources from all of its lines in different ways, not dedicating as many design and production resources as they have even just a few years ago. obviously this is just a vibe i get, idk for sure. Mattel can definitely do better with the Monster High g3 lines, but i'm pretty happy with most of the new releases and especially happy with venus. venus is one of my all time faves from g3, almost screamed when i found one of her from the g1 coffin bean line at a thrift store- even if she wasn't in the best condition. she is absolutely my favorite design from g3 so far and i hope the future dolls of her kill it even more than this one does. i think MGA needs to step it up with Always Bratz, it's their only tween and up focused line now that they're committing to a younger demographic reboot of rainbow high. i know MGA can do better with bratz, they already have a lot of potential. i hope they release a homerun with all four girls next time instead of leaving their strong design foundations and concepts in favor of cropped fishnets and weird ass booties.

"I don't think it's necessary to change characters races" I mean... at least she was honest lol. why is it the only people who ever think that are white? like, we have enough white representation in EVERY field of media. there is no shortage of white representation, I say that as a white person, we're everywhere! it's boring! G1 and G3 Venus are great in their own right, but I love that G3 Venus isn't just a rehash of G1 Venus. The team working on these new dolls are actually TRYING to do something new with every character so far, and if that means changing the race of several OG characters, including my favourites, go ahead! I wanna see the possibilities! I think the newer MH dolls have so much more character and individuality, the faces are so distinct. The earlier ones are very "same" across the board. Mattel has really lifted the game on Monster High at least. She can be black with green skin just as easily as white dolls can have green skin. I am a fan of Venus but I love the new version's vibe so much more.

I'm 3 weeks late to this video but Sasha is STILL not being stocked anywhere near me or online. This reminds me of Krystal's release with RH2... so I think MGA needs to explain why they can't seem to stock/ship the dark skinned dolls while having no trouble getting the white ones out. I mean, I'd understand if none of them were in stock... if they were selling out (bc she's the cutest of this line, IMO) but it's literally a stocking/shipping issue. I think that is one example were the appearance of the character does matter, seeing as she was literally named "Snow White" because her skin was as white as snow and she was the "fairest of them all". I absolutely adore the new Venus doll! Even though I'm black myself I'm not the biggest fan of unnecessary race swaps but it works with Venus cuz she never had an established race and design wise she looks so damn good! Sasha also looks great but unfortunately Cloe and Jade just ATE. On the Hip hop thing tho, I 100% agree, Hip Hop is heavily routed in black culture/history but black people are more than their culture and its what a lot of companies fail to realise when it comes to black or other enthic characters, its always like if you're apart of x race your only character trait is whatever is linked to your culture and your tragedy is oppression. However, for Sasha, she's the Queen. Always has been since 01, she can keep and own that. I'd have an issue if say Felicia, Venus etc all had that. (Also Venus having more punk/alt vibes just screams and resonates with me so much omg)
