Love all your reactions and appreciate the time you dedicate in bringing this to your many fans!! Wishing you the Best of all things in life, this day and Always!

Chuck's music was often played in my grandmother's house. Guys, again I ask.... What about Boney James? I'm still holding out for hope that you'll get to The Manhattan Transfer, too. Such a unique group with a great vocalease style of singing. They sing in the same speed and key as the instruments in the band, they scat, sing jazz, bebop, soul, and R&B. They can take an instrumental and add their own lyrics for a great song, like "Birldland". Boney James (alto, tenor and soprano saxophone) - "So Beautiful" "Something Inside" (featuring Dave Hollister on vocals) "Butter" "Ride" (featuring Jaheim on vocals) "Sarah Smile" "All About You" -- The Manhattan Transfer - "Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone" "Killer Joe" "Ray's Rockhouse" "Confide In Me" "Birldland" "Hot Fun In the Summertime" (featuring Chaka Khan. First by Sly and the Family Stone) "Operator" "The Thrill Is Gone" (B.B King's song, featuring B.B and Ruth Brown) "The Offbeat Of Avenues" (I would try to translate the jazz and beatnik lingo in the song for you, if you like.) "Soul Food to Go" "Gentleman With a Family" "Who, What, When, Where, Why?" (Dionne Warwick has a version, and I believe it was written by and first performed by Rupert Holmes) "A World Apart" (This song has a special place in my heart for my angel baby.) 😢

But Chuck was popular enough in the ‘80’s that he played larger venues like theaters & colleges, etc. This is the same band that recorded Feels So Good, probably his biggest hit. This one was rather popular because it was chosen as one of the theme songs for the Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid, but I can’t recall the year. If you get a chance, have a listen to his incredible piece, Land of Make Belive, high has the sitinguished Esther Satterfield singing. Great reaction.🌟

Re. Being famous just for the instrument you play - There were a rare few musicians in the '80s who were famous just for the instrument they played. The ones I can think of, besides Chuck, are the late Vangelis, Jan Hammer (pronounced "Yan Hammer"), and Harold Faltermeyer, all for their keyboard work with synthesizers. Hammer was, of course, famous for his Miami Vice theme, and some other music for the TV series. Vangelis was pretty big for a few years for his movie soundtracks, such as in "Chariots of Fire." The same went for Faltermeyer. His most famous were theme songs for "Beverly Hills Cop," and "Top Gun."
