Outstanding song by Chuck. His songs are so uplifting and the horns take you away. Beautiful memories. My favourite "Chase the Clouds Away". Thanks Michael and Harri. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

This song was composed for and performed at the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, New York.

It went went well with that event. He also had a slower version of it (called Give It All You Got Slowly) that I believe they played during the last day or days of the event.

Growing up in the 70's and 80's in the Greater NYC Metro area, Chuck Mangione's music, especially "Give It All You Got", "Feels So Good" and to a lesser extent, "Fun and Games", "Hill Where The Lord Hides", "Land of Make Believe" and others were quintessential metropolitan New York City and part of the soundtrack to my youth- and the music still sounds fresh and enjoyable today!

I am very excited that you are listening to this beautiful song. When those first few notes on Chuck's flugelhorn hit, I teared up...😢 I have not heard this song in a long time. The last time I remember hearing it was before my parents passed away. They both loved this song. Writing this, I can hardly keep my composure, for all the memories involving my parents and siblings. Music was such a big part of our home and lives. All types of music. I miss you mom and dad. God's Peace to you and all here. 🙏 ✌️

(When I took Italian in college my teacher said that all vowels are pronounced in Italian. Here in the USA, folks have fallen into the bad habit of dropping the last vowel.) I believe Chuck was playing a Yamaha YFH-61 on this album. I bought the silver plated version, YFH-731, he used on "Feel So Good" album and still have it. It's one of my prized possessions, made in Japan. Chuck was a great player, soloist, songwriter, arranger, and cross-over artist. Saw him live a couple of times. That band was awesome live. Chuck's fluglehorn playing is just fantastic. Trumpet players all double on flugel. Chuck's sound is peerless, IMO. Those interval leaps he displays throughout the tune are darn hard to do.

Just found this randomly because I felt like listening to the track. Great choice ! Chuck's fugelhorn and Chris Vadala's sax blending together is sublime. Since you're also doing instrumental jazz stuff, wonder if you could do Caldera's "Triste", Ronnie Laws' "Night Breeze", or Noel Pointer's "East St. Louis Melody"

Whrn he was about 30, I was in Primary Three. During that prople, The Black and White Minstrel Show, RAy Coniff Singers and this guys's horn, blended so well in my mind also as a fun-loving person. During that time, the sombre mood was really lifted away off from me - no more music like The Sound of Silence or Bridge Over Troubled Water.
