We had a "Principal for a day" thing in my elementary school, every year! The kid would get to sit at the desk, answer a phone call (usually from the secretary or a teacher), make an "important" decision like they would give the kid the choice between 2 dates for a certain activity and the kid would get to chose which, and fun stuff like that. It was pretty cool!

i was principle for a day at my elementary school in st charles in the 90s i got a cardboard sign and went to different classes and got mcdonalds for lunch, i still remember the lego car toy that came with it, i also tried to get everyone to get to leave early but they said i couldnt, then i tried to get computer time extended they said i couldnt do it, finally they said i could extend recess, so during announcments, which they had me read, i announced 10 minutes extra recess. i won the principle for a day ina raffle where you got a ticket by selling chocolates or some stuff and i did the very minimum and got one ticket in there and i won it

I hate people being anti-valentines day. Like when I was a kid in school we made valentines cards for our mams and dads. Like it doesn't just have to be about having a boyfriend/girlfriend. The reason many people dislike or even hate it is becuase of the tedious nature of it. Like someone said above "love" is all year round. I don't need some card or flowers or a day to tell me what, when and who to give someone else to. Exactly why I dislike fathers day and mothers day. You should always do stuff for your parents. Not just for that day. The only "day" (days) that should exist is birthday, easter, all saints, and christmas. All the rest are commercial bullshit. And if you're into workers' rights. Labour day.
