If you look closely the Coast Guard is in the background

Lived my entire life minutes from the ocean. The Guard doesn't get enough credit. The amount of people who own boats and have no idea how to operate them is amazing. If not for these great Americans many would be dead. I'm a 20 year combat vet and never realized they have about 50k strength. I honestly thought it was more, maybe 100, 150k. But 50k? Wow. Promotions but be competitive. Anyway thank you for your service.

Besides marrying my wife and having a family, my 4 years in USCG were the most challenging and exciting of times. Semper Paratus (Since 1790)

John on wives computer. Served 4 active duty years going from CG Station as a seaman to a petty officer in the medical corps on buoy tender in the ninth CG district. I cherish every minute I spent in the Guard. It was an honor to be able to serve with them. Shipmates were awesome.

When I was in we were under the dept of treasury. Least funded military branch in govt with the most responsibility’s. When homeland security was invented they realized the the law enforcement abilities of the CG petty officers and immediately the CG was turned over to homeland. Still getting the pay of the military but with the most law inforcement capability besides the SAR and ANT plus all the other responsibilities oil spill ship inspection plus..The list of USCG tasks are amazing and never published

I don’t know much about the Sea. But I think any institution should get the MOST CAPABLE people, instead of diversity. MOST CAPABLE is not attached to diversity or race. But maybe the in the sea the things are different.

The "diversity" woke crap is going to sink Merica, pardon the pun. Isn't it supposed to be about merit? I don't care if the whole damn crew is female, but calling it out is reverse sexism. Oh and in 2021, isn't it transphobic to be even callingbpeople men and women lol
@JimSmith-yi9tz5 жыл бұрын
Was a good clip until they made it sexist about women and diversity... Give me a break.The people that preach tolerance and the most intolerant...

The USCG has the highest enlistment standards of all the services, especially the ASVAB scores. These are smart people.

That is racist to think about the race of people. We don't need see a person who "looks like us" to want to do it. That comment makes me wonder if the person coming to rescue me will be there because he is good or because the Commandant looked at color skin instead of the content of character and qualifications.
@Ratlins92 жыл бұрын
I thought the Coast Guard wanted the best candidates. I saw women and minorities so this is just another military leader who is mandated by the White House to chant about diversity.
