Alyona I was wondering if you would be so kind to make a video highlighting your favourite books on modern botanical illustration. I know you have a good collection and would love to know your top 3 or 5 you recommend and why. Pretty please?

Irit Landgraf sure! 🤣 Let me get my ladder out and go through my library 😅 Joking, but yes will do! Would you also be interested to see botanical books that are great for inspo, photos etc? X

I don't know! I guess what is most relevant and useful for illustrating or painting in a modern style?

🥰 Love those pencil shades; yummy pastels!! 😄 Of course there's shiny and glittery things in nature. (Mica is one of my favorites.) 😊👍

I am really looking forward to see a in depth video about the Holbein pencils to see if it is worth to invest in these 😍 They look so pretty! I also would like to know about the first book because I came across this book on Amazon and since then I wonder if it worth buying it for myself.

Oh no, Alyona, more pretties! They look wonderful; however, I am on a budget. I just indulged in the Caran d'Ache Museum Acuarelles. Books, however, are not included in my diet so I can hardly wait till you go through the second book. I believe I have the first. As usual, your videos are the best. Thank you for all you do.

Just a quick tip with the bronze and burnt bronzite. I have them in pans and they are really really hard to rewet. I would use it straight from the tube.

The older the Daniel Smith watercolor ground is when you purchase it, the thicker it will be. I bought some from Michaels craft In June and it is so thick, in order to get a smooth and even coat I have to add water. It’s paste. Like thiiiiiick paste lol

Bought the 150 Holbein color set last year in Japan and I don't regret it.

I think you absolutely post a review. I"m sure you explain why you don't like it, maybe it will appeal to someone else, like beginners or people into a different style.

This is my absolute favorite sketch book...getting ready to reorder. I’d love to hear how you feel about it🥰

Alyona, does Kluglein's book talk about mixing colours at all?

The genuine colors will not always look identical from batch to batch because they are made from ground mineral which naturally varies. That would explain why your dot card is not identical to the tube paint.

I clicked just to see the pencils, and no video on them.
