I made that connection too but I feel like Helaena might not be in total control of her actions. Its clear that she has always had a magical connection, we just didnt know what magic it was. (Lord of Light, Old Gods, Lovcraftion religon of Asshai which might be the Old Gods, Valaryian Dragon Magic) Now that we know its the Olds Gods it makes sense why she would do something that wouldnt benefit her, as the Old Gods have a history of infecting minds and forcing people to their will. Obvious example is Bran being corrupted by Bloodraven although I trust Ryan Condall to write a way better character than what we got in the last few seeason of GoT with Bran.

At the 7:49 mark, the wind whispers “Traitor.” I’m Team Black but I love Haleana. She’s a badass with a gentle heart/spirit. 1) she tells Daemon to play his part in a story that’s not his and 2) called Aemond on his BS, informed him of his death and left him standing there shook. Good episode but too many cliffhangers! We should’ve seen the battle at King’s Landing or Rhaena claiming Sheepstealer (we only get her playing Pokémon Go in the mountains). Now we wait until 2026.

Alicent promising Aegon to Rhaenyra, but Larys spiriting Aegon out of the city will have dire consequences for Alicent and Helaena I think. The promise won't stand if Rhaenyra can't take out the opposition.

Bad season since the beginning of this season and all indications lead to its failure due to the destruction of some characters, for example, Kristen Cole is a strong character and is considered one of the great forces on the side of the dragons for the Greens, as well as Alicent, from a mother defending her son to a mother agreeing to kill her son

This season they reduced the episode count to 8, and I'm guessing next season will be 6-7 episodes, and then if they do a fourth season it'll probably be 4 or 5 episodes... And then in the future we'll get to a point where an entire season of a show is going to be 1 fricking episode and it's going to be 3 to 4 years in between seasons! Lol

The finale reminded me of the ending for season 6 of GoT when Daenerys finally set sail for Westeros. She also had a large army, ships and dragons and we expected her to wreck the Lannisters quickly in season 7. Thankfully, Rhaenyra doesn't have problems in the North or an attractive nephew to distract her. I've really enjoyed your reactions for HotD Season 2.

The reason Rhaenyra brough Addam instead of Jace is that Seasmoke is a larger dragon compared to Vermax and she wanted to outmuscle Daemon and Caraxes who are both battle hardened warriors. Here's what I guess will happen next season, the Seasnake will be killed or captured. Daemon will kill Aemond. Rhaenyra will become queen but then be killed by smallfolk because the pirates of Esos will defeat the Seasnakes blockade and replace it with their own unless they are given the stepstones. One of her riders most probably Hugh will betray her as he does not want to burn the innocent and then he will take Vermithor to Aegon.

Disappointing season finale, this episode felt like the penultimate episode before the finale. The saddest thing is that we have to wait for season 3 😢. We really, really needed 10 episodes. On a positive note, I thought the scene with Rhaenyra and Alicent was really good, very well acted, and very intense. I also enjoyed the scene with Corlys and Alyn. I'm glad to see Daemon has finally bent the knee in earnest to his queen. Seeing Dany my favorite character in all of literature on the screen again made me a little emotional.

Yeah I've seen people say "it was a good episode but poor finale" and I think that sums it up well. I actually really enjoyed the episode as a whole but I don't feel like there was enough of a punch to end the season.

Even with very little action, GoT had stellar direction, plot, and dialogue to keep people entertained. This...doesn't have it. There was so many unnecessary scene in this season when it was already short it’s obvious the budget is not there the season could have had the battle of the gullet and have jacaerys fall. But of course the show runners want daemon and jacaerys alive for season 3 and extend this even more. They have not learned anything from GIT after the disaster of the ending . Watch this show go down hill soon this episode is already the least rated one compared to any other ending season finally from but GOT and house of the dragon
