You can use glass to your advantage as an attacker if they haven't shot the glass. Go on rappel and at an angle shoot once, let your reticle return to the same exact spot and shoot again so your second bullet goes through the same hole in the glass and hits the same panel on the barricade to break it. Then you can peak through the open panel while making almost no noise, gotten so many free kills doing this. Works best with a suppressor and make sure to shoot it at an angle so the shattered glass around the bullet hole doesn't block the open panel in the barricade.

I went back to Hi-Fi because many times on Nightmode I thought the enemy was close to me on a corridor, but he was a bit more far away down the hallway. I missed so many shots because of this. On Hi-Fi everything is more precise and sutble. But yeah, in the end it's about preference when you get used to it.

I play on tv mode idk what it does people say night mode i should go for is because is more better idk who to believe or which sound mode to go for because i can't hear my enemies either they are on my right or left then my mates take the mick out of me saying i dont have game sense or im bad at the game or i dont know how to rank up because i die always or i dont know what my left or right is is so annoying makes me pissed off because i dont know which sound to go for because i need to know where they are footsteps are important to me so is rappling and gunshots

I’ve played on night mode for a little just testing it out and I can’t tell you the amount of times someone has bucked a wall right beside me and me not hear it because it blends in with all the other sounds and I just get killed. Night mode is not good if you have headphones that are good. Tv would be better then night mode if you were going for that balance of not to loud but directional and distance audio more precise Hifi for the best of both.

A good way to explain dynamic range and compression is this: Dynamic range is the difference is volume between the loudest and quietest sound. Compression reduces the dynamic range by raising the volume of the quieter sounds (kinda, it actually doesn't but that's effectively what it does in siege)

Changing to nightmode a few months ago has 100% helped me the most of any setting in the game. Footsteps are so important in this game.

Hifi has worked the best for me. On nightmode the footsteps were louder but so jumbled together i couldn't tell where from. Btw I play pc mostly now but im still using my ps5 headset, do you have any recommendations for a wireless headset designed for pc?

The sound in siege is broken, especially with punch holes in the wall. Nightmode is by far the best but it's far away from perfect.. I've noticed that you can't jump through the windows on boarder in bathrooms with a drone anymore...its kinda weird, need to try it out with a flores drone

How to understand the Dynamic Range audio setting even more simply: Hi-Fi is *the most* difference between the loudest sounds and the quietest sounds, Night Mode is the least difference and the TV is something in-between these two I'd say it's not really about sound physics, it's more of a sound engineering topic. Actually, every song you've ever listened to has compression somewhere in it and this is exactly that.

Thing is, on ps5, if you have 3d audio enabled, hifi is the better option because of the clarity, meaning you can hear a gunshot down range to your 2 o'clock, but also hear someone shuffle debris or into crouch on your cqc 8 o'clock, and a drone/cam moving at 10 o'clock midrange and still be hearing a kapkan edd on the door Infront of you, At the same time but separate clarity. It is personal preference though.

how do you distinguish between sounds from above or from below when you are standing in a stairwell, for example? i also often have the impression that sounds from the "other side" are louder than those in the immediate area, if there is a hole in the wall or in the floor/ceiling

This is always difficult in Siege and in most games tbh. Directional sound is easier having left and right headphones but unfortunately we don't have the extra ear cups for up and down too!

The first 2 tips are very old unfortunately. With how much guns get reused, if you hear an mp7, it might be a zero, or bandit 😆

@@ItzBedrovit doesn’t work as their explaining it if your doing site set up for example and are placing down barb let’s say you will not hear someone buck a wall right beside you like you would with hifi and be able tell where and when. As he said the sounds are lowered and more on avg with eachother so buck breaching is gonna sound just as loud as you putting barb down essentially with night mode . I’ve died plenty times similary to that. I feel if you have a good headset that already is clear between high and low sounds hifi is the best, but if you got some 1$ headphones night mode would probably be better because the audio would be lower and easier to hear those fine tuned ques like footsteps. I’m switching back to Hifi personally bc of that buck thing I just mentioned. I’m late but hope this helps as I’m having that trouble now after switching to night mode since getting back on from taking a break from siege.
