I have dealt with this disease first with my late Mother in Law for approximately 15 years before she passed. Now her Daughter, my ex, has the disease and is in a Nursing home. She showed signs at about the same age as her Mother, mid 60's. Alzhiemers is hereditary and my Daughter is concerned of her future.

My best friend since 1956 was recently diagnosed with Dementia. She still calls me but they immediately told her can no longer drive. Her demeanor seems good but her “way of being herself” is gradually changing. I am homebound with illness then there was Covid so we haven’t seen each other since before Covid. Her Mom had some type of Dementia as well and my friend was her caregiver until she required assisted living and then a nursing facility. I have wondered if this disease is hereditary and I lean toward yes. The confusing thing to me is there are so many types. So many people react in such different ways. The saddest I have seen are the ones who (and I’ve really only seen one bad one like this) seem to be tormented. You are amazing children to provide such loving care for your Momma. There’s no friend like our Mom. That’s what mine always told me. She proved this to be true. I only have one great Uncle on one side of my parents’ families who had dementia. We old people fear it.. you are all in my prayers as well as your Dad. Btw, your Momma was beautiful. 🙏🏻🙏🏻💔💔

I'm 68 and sometimes miss how I should have seen. Sending up prayers for you and yours. I have also discovered that cinamon seems to help brain regeneration.

Its a shame something this devastating is so hard to even find simple _treatments_ for to slow it down, let alone making a cuer. "The human brain is extremely complex, and Alzheimer's disease is one of the most complex diseases of the brain." According to google, its a double prion disease and not a prion disease. (Like CWD or something.)

My mother is currently going through this cruel disease; she was an integral part of her father's care when he also was living through Alzheimers; my mother's brother was diagnosed about the same time that we noticed my mother's memory loss worsening. Due to this genetic background, my Dr. has me on a variety of supplements that protect the brain and boost the immune system.
