There is something impressive about this album beyond the pop smile & shake of its surface charms. What I find impressive, or interesting--is how it is in part, so uniquely of its time in terms of the 'we haven't come down from the smiling hippie sunshine ride' sound. It has that prized smell of an sweater that belonged an admired older brother, or lost uncle, still clean and softly folded, with that scent of weak pine, and the almost moribund leather hair tossed in perfect twilight, dash of talc and car-race celebration sex behind a portly, and kind beach boulder.

I think the fractious methods in which you expound on the ‘surf generation’ somewhat denigrate the extravaganza that once persisted through and far beyond the lavender gap, and there’s no farmhouse at the end of that trail! Now, as far as the woodchuck smoke perforating every sense, much akin to this albums peppermint vibrations, it hosts a crystal clear intention that has to be framed, and Alzo, Udine and your good self have done that with such cute aplomb, I felt it had to be noted. When one considers the hip flip, pastel featurettes and grim descending honey, you have a pure flab as hefty as a bluebell awakening the dawn that could only be ascertained through healing tendencies.

I used to go see these guys at the Flick in Miami in the late 60's. Loved them. Whatever happened to them? Also saw Gabe Kaplan starting out there, too.
