J & K was an accession by default and under great pressure. Just as the other border states with a Muslim majority like East Bengal, Punjab and others, a demarcated portion of Kashmir could have gone to Pakistan. Today India would have held Aksai Chin and a considerable part of POK due to an agreed international border. The map would have looked different. The rule of a Hindu king and the ambition of Nehru to retain the whole area as India is the root cause. In fact East Pakistan was silly and untenable. Pakistan with just five crore population and India with around thirty means Pakistan should have been a single and smaller unit. With about fifty percent or even less of the valley area. A historical blunder by Mountbatten on land demarcation. This is about land. Not so much about religion once the entire area of Jammu had remained with India. Modi's ham handed actions to appease his vote bank today is not based on an understanding of history. He has made things worse.

But the reason they or rather the king chose Ind was Pak militants actually attacked first to capture the key outposts, leaving no other choice but to appeal for India’s help. Indian help came with no choice but joining India. Nothing underhanded from Indian side regardless of my disdain for Nehru. If there is someone to blame for Kashmir to have no other choice, that is the impatient, uncivilized, violent Pakistan. Also there are other examples geographically away from Pakistan with a similar situation with perhaps a stronger claim of ‘underhandedness’. Hyderabad. My city. And sir, I am glad of India’s ‘underhanded’ means in assimilating the region and ousting those wile Razakars.

The way you quote out verses without going into background totally suggest that your mindset has been tempered with. These Qur'anic Verses were revealed during war and are purely applicable during war. At other places Qur'an says " killing an innocent is like killing whole humanity" also there is like " la iqraha fid Deen" means there is no compulsion in Islam. There are many Hindus in Arabian Peninsula who are Hindus by birth and descent let alone Christians. If you're really eager to discuss this topic in detail , may be i can find some time to deal with you.
