Try to not slice as much except on your serve returns. Your balls are hanging in the air to give your opponents more time and/or you're giving them top spin to attack back at you. You have such a good twoey backhand drive and forehand drive, utilize those to keep up the pressure. Great videos and fun to see your pickleball journey!

Hey man! I've seen you at Pickle Ranch a couple times. I have a lot of paddles that you could try if you want. Coming from tennis, there's some other options beside the DBD that may benefit your game and skills a lot more.

Hey Paul. Also coming from a strong background in tennis, I know it will take you a while to develop a PB singles game vs. your tennis tendencies/abilities/tactics. Watching your first match for example, it looked very much like tennis, with hard driving shots on most points, with no cat-and-mouse (a Johns' specialty), resets/drops, etc. to keep you in the point, or give your opponents what they DON'T want. If you added more hybrid drives (more "bend" and less straight-line power), you would make it much more difficult for your opponents to volley your passing shots, and especially to put them away for winners. But you will catch on quickly, for tennis fundamentals will always serve as a good foundation to build from. I will keep a watch out for you at The Ranch, for I am always looking for a game of singles myself. Keep up the good work!

I think playing singles take less skill than doubles. In singles you keep the ball away from the competitor. In doubles you need to dink and place the ball better.

@mousaaamousa
@mousaaamousa 17 күн бұрын
I'd say each requires a different set of skills despite being played on the same court. passing shots down the line and cross court along with agility and strong backhand are a must for a singles strong player. while dinking accuracy, smart placement, drop/drive balance, teamwork, and fast hands are the ones for a strong doubles player.

Hmmm I think it costed me about $160? I don't have a referral code for 6.0, but if you're interested in Volair, 11six24, Spartus, or Vatic Pro, I have referral codes (eellaup) for those. You'll get about 10% off. I'll probably be trying out the Spartus Olympus and Volair Mach1 Forza soon. I started in June 2024, so about 3 months now?
