Para Daniel Tammet con un autismo de alto funcionamiento, se da cuenta de que "Pi es como [su] poema de amor", mientras hace la pregunta más vulnerable de "soy capaz de ¿ser amado?"
/ Countless songs have asked it-- “What is love?” To Daniel Tammet with high-functioning autism, he figures out that “Pi is like [his] love poem”, as he asks the more vulnerable question of “am I capable of being loved?”

I think the reason why Daniel talking about his feelings and his process touches so many people is because a part of the inner self of every human being feels alienated, afraid, lonely, that doesn´t fit, that it´s me and the others. And everybody needs the love of their pairs and to be recogniced and wellcomed. Maybe it´s very usefull to see us from the similarities and not only from the differences

I believe that Daniel is describing, in way that we can understand, how all people grow and learn to communicate. He's fascinating and I could listen for hours. I wonder if he had a podcast, how many subscribers he would have. I believe that in 10 or 20 years Daniel will be one of the most famous people in the world. Like Einstein or Sir Isaac Newton. I'm excited to see what he will come up with next.

Come up with next? He hasn't come up with something before really. But very fascinating indeed! We learn a lot from him! One day we maybe will be able to think as him!

@@suslu4763 Various scientists around the world have been studying him. Allan Snyder, director of the Center for the Mind at the University of Sydney, said Daniel could be the “Rosetta Stone” that leads to a deeper understanding of savant syndrome, and could affect us all, based on his ability to communicate what’s in his mind. Daniel Tammet FRSA, in addition to being gifted with numbers and mathematics is also gifted with words and languages. He understands and speaks eleven different languages. He has even constructed a new language called “Mänti”. He has written many essays, poems, and five highly regarded award winning books. “Born on a Blue Day”(2006), “Embracing the Wide Sky”(2008), “Thinking in Numbers”(2012), “Every Word is a Bird We Teach to Sing”(2017), and “How to be Normal”(2020). He’s written other books as well. So he most certainly _has_ come up with something before, really, and it will be interesting to see what he comes up with next.

Soft sided, deeply personal and profound introduction into your geometric, poetically insightful orchestration of your journey to perceive and reflect back. Daniel graciously ushers us into his other worldly order of his connected multi-faceted, tempatic life Daniel to your initial question ...you are genuinely capable to love and be loved...because you are lovable just the way you are. Showing one's authentic true being is showing your own colours. Your masterpiece is a paint-by-number ¡~¡ 'pi' palette of shapes, numbers and quantum intuitive consciousness into infinity. We are all connected, all-one as we abide in infinity's presence. 🌎🌐💙

Daniel has tapped into something within Pi. Its weird and beautiful. This will surely present us with new sciences regarding Pi, Phi, and other Greek numbers that the Greeks themselves regarded enough to be represented in their own language.

This is amazing! He is describing, so similarly, my own experience of growing up. I had no clue about people, I could not predict them, I did not understand or feel love as I've heard it described by other people, I didn't want to talk to them. I felt, viscerally, alien. I memorized things rather easily, had an eidetic memory, and usually was the student who raised the curve in the class. I instinctively understood things along the line of biology, physiology, pathology, etc., but had no grasp of people, how to predict what they would do. To this day I can easily recognize only a few voices. Colors have tastes. I have such a hard time looking people in the eye. Intimacy is a challenge when you can't do that. I was tested many times, called retarded. Schools wanted to put me in special classes for mentally deficient children. My mother adamantly refused. I am probably not institutionalized because of her. Ultimately, IQ testing craze came around and I tested out with a very high IQ. I was in the "talented and gifted program", but only certain things interested me. I did horribly in High School, much better in college with fewer rules and mandated classes. My biggest struggle in college was to learn and practice empathy and compassion, a thing I struggled with all my life. I was still bored, tho, barring a very few subjects that interested me. I truly wish there was more of a system of learning that catered toward autistic persons when I began my schooling (a few decades before Daniel Tammet, even). I applaud person like Daniel who are able to speak out, to convey to the normals what we the differents are experiencing. Thank you!

I believe in his number abilities. However, I knew that he was also tested for his memory on language and he indeed passed this by learning Icelandic language in a week. My curious question is, why is he doing his speech with "cue cards" on the podium? Wouldn't he have memorized what he's supposed to say by heart?

he probably wrote the speech in a string of numbers, then had to convert it to our language (joke), he did mention that his recital of Pi was like him expressing his whole life after all. I read about him and he said that he excelled in most subjects apart from English literature, because there are no right or wrong answers. He is very logically minded, makes sense that numbers are his first language to really relate to. converting Pi to a 15 min talk in English must be hard.

Perhaps I can offer some insight. I have quite a prodigious memory, especially for language. Probably not as extreme as this gentleman, but significantly different to the average person. However I don’t think there is such a thing as a ‘photographic’ memory. It still takes a conscious effort and mental energy to learn and memorise. I don’t think anybody can memorise things in the way your implying he should be able to.

@dalesmith4609
@dalesmith4609 5 жыл бұрын
@WestieB i listened to his audio book, he said for the Pi recital he had 22 sheets of A4, each with 1,000 digits, and they were then seperated further into 100 digit long "sentences". When i first learned of Daniel I was under the impression that he was just reading a landscape of the number in his mind, not so sure now, just a memory feat. Although he does have an emotional reaction to the number because some "evil scientists" listed off the number and added in numbers that weren't there,and he got very upset at them, very cruel.
