No reasonable adult is going to get upset watching a new player, on a KZbin video, making mistakes in a video game. That only leaves children or unreasonable people who get upset. Why would anyone care what those people think? Just play the game and enjoy the learning experience. That's what most people enjoy about watching content creators play Elden Ring for the first time: it reminds us of what we were experiencing when we first played. We get to vicariously re-live that awesome first-time experience through you content creators. You do you boo.

To backstab an enemy, crouch down and walk right up to them. You can push right up against them, they will only be alerted if they see you. That way you can do critical damage.

Amazing progress. One thing you might add to your repertoir is jump attack (when you have opening for it) - it's a bit stonger a nd especially Kaiden Raiders can be easily thrown off their horse and stunned if you do it properly. Also, counter-attacks after blocks - sometimes timing is tricky, but if you are confident it was the last attack in the serie, you can punish enemy's attack with strong attack and extra poise damage to stun the opponent (Cave of Knowledge in the beginning teaches this with Soldier of Gordick). Looking forward to next video.
@SkeleTonHammer
@SkeleTonHammer Ай бұрын
Don't forget, a strong attack immediately after blocking = a guard counter (makes a satisfying "ting" sound when you pull it off) and it does a lot more damage than just following up a block with a normal attack. You already got the timing of blocking and attacking during an opening down with the Night Cavalry but you coulda spanked him harder if all those attacks were guard counters instead! I believe guard counters also deal extra "poise" damage (more likely to drop an enemy to their knee opening them up for a critical stab). I think you're doing just fine, once you incorporate a few little mechanics you're missing you'll be golden. Sword and board is a lot of fun in Elden Ring once you start guard countering all the time.

Great episode! You're doing so much better now that you're in areas that are part of the early game. :) I have two tips for you: 1. Early on you should focus on leveling Vigor, a bit of endurance, and just one other stat (depending on what kind of weapons you want to use probably strength or dex, but it could be int or faith). Later on it might be useful to put 3 levels into a stat so you can cast some spells but at the beginning 3 levels is a lot and you'd be better off putting them in your main stats. 2. You are already pretty good at blocking with your shield. If you press R2 right after blocking an attack you will do a powerful counterattack.

few tips about being a mage: if you want to go down the sorcery route, you would have to level inteligence(usualy) to use and increase the damage of your spells keep in mind that you would be sacrificing the damage you would get on your weapons by leveling up strenght or dexterity if you do that there are some weapons in the game that deal more damage the more inteligence you have, but that would limit your choices you have to prioritize upgrading a staff if you want to do good damage with the spells you still should level vigor acordingly with your damage atribute (inteligence) most of the time, it stops being worth at 60 vigor. Inteligence stops being worth to pump past 80. the reason behind these numbers is the diminishing returns of stats you get beyond that.

Please dw about making mistakes. That's part of the game, especially for a first playthrough. And for those of us watching it's part of the fun. God knows I made some ridiculous mistakes on my first playthrough. So, yeah, you or any other cc making mistakes is not frustrating at all. If I wanted to watch a perfect run, I'd just watch some no hit run challenges or something similar, and not a blind playthrough. But personally, I enjoy blind playthroughs. Please don't give too much thoughts on the negative comments or anything on the internet really lol, it's going to burn you out pretty quick and that'd be a shame since I (as many do, I'm sure) love watching your content Anyways, your videos are quite chaotic (in a good way) and relaxing at the same time. I was wondering what to watch this afternoon and here it is! Finished watching and you're definitely doing much better. Those Night's Cavalry are pretty tough at your level & gear. Also good to see you getting some critical hits, those aren't random by the way it's all in your positioning. By the way the cart-pulling trolls will not attack you as a pair unless you do a lot of damage to each of them, if you take them one at a time they're actually pretty easy and a good way to get some extra runes, just watch out for their entourage. Looking forward to the next one!

Also put the Wolf Ashes on your Pouch (where Torrent is) and you can summon them when the Grave Symbol appears. I 100% love your determination. Keep going, you are Amazing. Well done on Pumpkin Man. Oh and FP is the blue bar. You need to use your Ashes of War to enhance your weapons / strikes / sheilds etc - they don't have an equip effect until you use them. Jump attacks, if you jump and use either attack while in the air (light or heavy) you get a more powerful attack, same if you are running before you attack. Also backstabs can be done if you sneak up behind an enemy and when close press light attack, you will perform a special attack that stabs them and you foot them off your weapon, they go to the ground and you have a chance to follow up with any attack you see fit. Loving your play through ❤ Also running jump lets you make the bigger jumps!

Those statues need to be like rainbow colored for me to notice them sometimes LOL. Great job with the bosses! Also as someone who uses the shield a lot, pressing the heavy attack button after something smacks your shield is very handy, especially against regular units. Also to give you an ego boost, I came back like 50 levels higher to beat the Night Cavalry boss because I couldn't beat it

Tips about magic (at the risk of repeating previous comments). There are essentially 2 types (or 2 'schools' you could say) of magic in the game. You have incantations which scale with your "Faith" stat, and sorceries which scale with your "Intelligence" stat. Both types consume FP, the amount of which you can increase by leveling up your "Mind" stat. In order to verify what "spell" needs what stat as well as what it actually does, you can check your inventory. The description is on the second page of the item's description (that goes for spells, but also weapons, equipments, really any and all items in the game, check that second description page, it helps! ) One other difference between both schools of magic is that, in order to cast "faith" magic (so, "incantations"), you need to equip an item called a "Seal" in one of your weaponry slots (left or right hand). Whereas "intelligence" magic (so, "sorceries"), require not a seal as an item, but a "Staff". Different seals and staves throughout the game come with their specific bonus to such and such type of magic. But now we're getting too deep into it... Keeping it basic for now. When you first start, you can equip (or "memorize" as they call it) only one such spell at a site of grace. As you explore further, you may find ways to increase the number of spells you can memorize. Whichever incantations or sorceries you have memorized at a site of grace, will appear in the top slot of your hud on the bottom left (same location where you can see your flasks and weapons, only the top slot). In order to use magic, you therefore need: 1) to have your casting item equipped (seal or staff) ; 2) to have the spell you want to cast appear on your bottom-left hud ; 3) to have enough FP to actually cast it; and 4) to have the proper stats required for that spell (same as you would a weapon). Something tells me this is all way too late, but hopefully it serves some kind of purpose. Enjoying the playthrough so far! ;-)

Some non-spoilery tips: learn the guard counter, a proper backstab (get right up behind them), and experiment with the (Lone Wolf or other) Spirit Ashes in one of the easier areas like the guard camp in front of the Gate. During my first playthrough the ability to summon various people or creatures to help out made things a lot of fun.

game tips: Golden runes and alike are runes that you dont loose when you die (not untill you sell or use them at least) you need to get 12 smithing stones of each level (the number you see when you pick them up) to upgrade a normal weapon to the next smithing stone level, it goes up to lvl8 and after that there is a special one to max(weapon +25). the somber smithing stones you use to upgrade the boss or special weapons, you only need one to go to next lvl and it caps after lvl9 with another special stone(weapon +10). The +25(normal) max is equivalent to a +10(somber) max. leveling arcane boosts your item discovery and the status buildup of weapons that scale with arcane. its usualy not worth to level it if you're not going to dedicate the points to a weapon that scales with arcane or if you're not going to be an arcane mage. There are other ways to raise your item discovery if you need to also.

I'm not a neat freak.... BUT.... should you come across stronger versions of your talismans, you can always store the weaker ones in the chest. (Site of Grace > 'Sort Chest' > navigate to the tab containing your talismans > then choose the ones you wanna put away). This way, you'll only have the very strongest ones available for you. With enough practice, you'll at some point be able to swap between talismans on-the-fly, even whilst running. Why would anyone do that? Easiest answer: to suit whatever the situation is. And things can change quickly! I won't say where nor when.... but they can!

First fo all upgrade vigor to at least 25, and endurance is also very important. Leave intelligence, faith and arcane behind for now. My two cents. 13:50 Dude! Like.... Dude!!! You got both the Night Cavalry AND the Mad Pumpkin Head in a single digit number of attempts! And this is your first run? You are a natural at this! And i won't yell at you not to get greedy as it still happens to me after 3 runs of this game! XD EDIT: hint on using magic in these games, aside from the obvious stat requirements, you are also going to need certain implements to cast them. For sorceries it will be a staff that you need to equip in one of your weapon slots, and for incantations it's going to be a seal. When you equip those in one of your weapons slots, you can then enchant the weapon in the opposite arm with it, but not in the same one. Say, if your staff is in your right, you can enchant the shield in your left, but not the sword in your right and vice versa. Also, to use the staff or the seal, you will need to shuffle through the weapons and select them, so if you have a sword in your right, and a staff in your right, you will need to select the stuff to use it, as it can be used at the same time as your sword.

Everyone takes the exact same learning curve in souls games. Completely normal. Nothing unusual here or anything you're doing wrong. 😂 I would probably put most of my levels in health for a loooöong time. It allows you to make much more mistakes by taking more and harder hits. Health is in my opinion the most important stat. Leveling most other stats makes only sense if you have weapon requirements. Also try jump attacks. They make more damage and bridge a larger distance.

So - I feel so sorry that you felt that you weren't being appreciated as a new (or noob) player.... To be honest, I actually much preferred watching your earlier posts where you played just much more naturally... And with a much more free character. There's an endless number of gamers streaming/vlogging them playing Elden Ring the way viewers wanted them to play (go here... Do this... Don't do that).... But I just so loved your first few videos because you were playing off-script. It was exciting, hilarious and entirely engaging because of the occasional awkwardness. Anyway... I wouldn't pay too much attention to comments (I know you want to engage... And git gud... So you also shouldn't listen too much to my comment either). Just enjoy the game; because your natural style is so infectious.

Dang! Mary you found a shiny I did not know about! Cool Check your “inventory“, to see if you have the “Lordsworn’s Greatsword“. That sword will serve you well. If you took weapons from “Gatefront“ grace wagons, you have it. 16 Str, 10 Dex 😊

When blocking with your shield if you press R2 straight after being hit you do a counter attack move causing extra damage and potentially stunning an enemy with a repost where they drop to their knees and you move in positioning yourself in front of them and hold R1 and youll get a repost..Practice offine in Limgrave on the soldiers and you'll be counter attacking and reposting like a pro.😂✌️..You can also block with a weapon and to a counter attack as well.Lets go Mary 😀✌️

There are quite a few knight riders throughout the game and as you say they only appear at night.
