I call you young lady because you are young. I'm 73 years old. I am renovating a house that is 120 years old. I am doing all the work myself, like you. I think you are an amazing young woman and very inspiring. Also, like you, I am not a social person. I never get lonesome. I have been called a hermit and a loner and a free spirit. I just feel like me. You inspire me because you live your life for yourself. Keep doing whatever you want to do. I also understand you not wanting a patreon account. I don't want anyone paying my way. I don't give anyone the right to feel like they are entitled to have a say in my life! I enjoy your channel and you have taught me several things. Thank you for that. I live in Texas, USA. I know our situations are quite different, but I feel a kinship with you.

Yes, age is relative. I am 68 and am remodeling my eighth house with my husband, things just take me longer than my first house. I think of Rosie as young and an eighty year old lady in my crochet group calls me young.

Yes, I also am not a social being, prefer my alone time without interference from someone else telling me how I should be, what I should do. I am 65 and recently purchased the old, falling down, much needing love and care home I've been renting for the past 9yrs...Little by little I will renew what has been ignored for decades. It's gets harder as you get older, you're not as strong or as fast but at the same time it gives you confirmation that you can do anything you put your mind to and age is just a number.

Rosie, I think you have a lot of introverts watching your channel. I am a ISTJ and have learned more about myself in the last 10 years than ever before. I am in my mid sixties and now can live my most comfortable life in retirement. I love your lifestyle and as a single woman living in far north Washington state, I find that nature and traveling sooths my soul. You are amazing and so funny! The way you put 'cute' on everything after acknowledging the comment was priceless. Keep true to yourself. It is worth the mental peace.

I'm an ol' grandma watching and must say that your 'simplicity and freedom and peace' are what attracted me to your vids. I pray you just remain who you are because it is a most wonderfilled thing when a person can 'accept' their limitations and their gifts and simply 'be'. This is one of life's hardest challenges...to be yourself and not 'allow fears and pressure' to warp you into someone that is not you. WELL DONE! You're living it, so your opinion is highly valued(because we know how much thought and research you put into your decisions). I heard you say you were going to get the fans! I personally think you are an absolutely amazing “young” woman! Your skills and talents are just so impressive and your confidence is beyond belief! I am a 79 year old old lady! I love watching your show! When I was young because of the environment that I was brought in and my parents did it because they love me, but I had some issues so I actually had to listen to a subliminal tape on self-confidence in order to become self-confident. But it worked so I set out on a path in my late 20s to use that confidence to become the woman I wanted to be. I am an introvert who loves being alone. I can work on things I love and don’t care what others think. I love watching you tackle new projects and I love you sharing your thought process with us. You are a wonderful example of what we can all accomplish if we set our minds to it. For those asking you how to change their lives one of the techniques I used frequently when I was younger was at night as I was falling asleep I visualize and felt the feeling of what it would be like living the life I wanted to live. What an adventure that was. Miraculous events occurred that opened doors for the next step and it seemed easy to move in that direction. All came about quickly and I moved to the next life I had envisioned. I have had a wonderful adventure in my life and I love watching your adventure unfold!

How many of us possess those qualities? This channel deserves so many more subscribers it is way better than many other pretenders to the Off Grid KZbin Vlogs.I wholeheartedly appreciate her integrity regarding Patreon/Amazon etc. Then there is her wonderfully dry and well delivered sense of humour. Looking forward to the upcoming year of your videos! In regard to people making suggestions I truly believe for the most part that people are good and just want to be helpful (of course some may think their opinion is the best and be conceited about it) but when viewers watch their favourite KZbin creators we in a sense invite those creators into our own homes so in a way it's easy to get invested or actually feel concern or feelings of friendship for creators we continually bring into our 'home'.

I made a small apartment in the garage so I guess, I've been renovating 2 places. As hard as you work, if you do make a new shower facility, I think you should make part of the construction a sauna. The luxury of having a sauna after a long days work mid-winter. Firing up the sauna to soak up the heat before you shower, then step into the residually warm dressing area you have designed, it would be warm from the adjacent saunas heat. Those first few winters had to be so cold, I imagine sliding into bed still warmed from the sauna would cut that shiver time down waiting for your own body to heat the cold bedding.

Loved seeing how you operate the drone. Your videos are so beautifully done. The aerial views are awesome, they remind me of the UP of Michigan. I used to live there and the winters might be like yours. Three hundred inches of snow was a normal winter. I am of Finish descent through my father. My mom and dad were from the UP and as the family grew we spent summers there. I remember being quite small and having my first Finish sauna. A sauna is a bath house separate from the main house. In the winter, many people roll in the cold snow after being in the hot sauna. It is so relaxing and rejuvenating to the body and mind. Maybe something like this could be your first build from start to finish. No pun intended. 😊❤

Ok I must have missed the fact that you are a professional designer watching on and off for a year. I was pretty amazed as an Architect that your eye for design elements and design structure was more than just luck. I have to say the place looks awesome. Your design is limited to your carpentry skills now but your thought process around cabinet design and layout is awesome. I am really enjoying this series. Cheers from Boston. This was so entertaining I laughed so much. However, the idea of the car is freedom to explore new places, quicky without much thought on a whim, with no plan. Totally spontaneously. I think you would enjoy that even as an introvert. A little old 60s or 70s mini copper?

I guess we viewers just get excited when we think you could benefit from something so we don't stop to think that others don't want our unsolicited advice. Of course you do your own research and you know about things! Thanks for this video, it's given me real insight into what it's like from your (and other content creators) perspective and maybe a tad more self awareness, too. From now on I'll simply comment to say thank you for your fantastic content. Also, the drone demonstration was really cool and in no way has it taken the magic out of your videos. It's given me a little confidence to learn how to use the drone my son was given that he's not interested in.

Thank you so much for being so open with your life. What you do is varied, interesting and complex and it contents you. I laughed out loud as you spoke about a chat with your sister on age, love your humour. Have a satisfying year!

I just love how you stick to your values. Also not promoting Amazon! You choose values instead of money (and sooo many others are going for the money). Thank you for being you. Thank you for being authentic. Ps. I'm still curious how old you are.......

I was so excited to see you had a new video for us. Because I found your site quite by accident and then binge watched it over three weeks, I found I really missed you . Thank you for sharing even more information about your life. I for one am just happy watching you work on your home and garden. You are so self sufficient and comfortable with who you are, and that alone is refreshing. As for whether you are young or not…well I am 76 and in comparison you are very young. So tell your sister not to dispare. I hope some wealthy person decides you need your special vehicle, but until then you are doing just fine on your own. I hope you have a wonderful 2024. Happy New Year.

What I like best about these videos is that you never know what she is going to say, "like I studied Elfism when I was younger," and it is so entertaining you just think "OK," because you wonder what else is going on in her head. She certainly is individualist, and when she says something it seems like it as entertaining to her as it to others but then she off to the next topic. I have never watched one of her videos without laughing at something she is acknowledging about how she might feel about something. She is a very accomplished individual with loads of creativity and craftsmenship. I mean how many of us would ride a bycicle to a hardwood store and load it u[p with wood for a project and ride it back with such assuerment that, of course, she will make it home with everything in tack, OK!

I admire all of you that are able to do all the renovating. I used to help my ex to do some reno work. I'm 78, almost 79, have a very bad back, walk with a walker and wish I could do all that again. I do what I can. Being able to do all the work makes one feel liberated and wonderful. Rosie, I really admire you. Keep up the awesome work. God bless. 😊❤❤

"Some people don't seem to understand how drones work...". It's me! I didn't have a clue so thanks Rosie for that explanation: I was always worried you'd fall off your bike (I'm actually an idiot 😅)! I'd love to see a conversation between you & Ariel! She's brilliant & like me, is a total book dragon. Loved the Q&A, thanks for making it! P.S. ever considered a stove fan? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

What a beautifully done Q&A! My favorite answer was the 2nd (or 3rd?) question about being okay with being yourself and not always striving to change some core of you because of others. My summary sounds trite, but you said it so beautifully! Thank you for your videos! Happy New Year! 🎉

When I was ten or so (1970s)I wrote stories about living ‘off grid’ - but of course that phrase didn’t exist then, or if it did, I wasn’t aware of it. Now in my late 50s I find myself drawn back to living a simple life. Vicariously I am, through your channel. And perhaps I will discover the motivation inside myself to live it, even for just a little while, by renovating my own (very much within a community) cottage. And I shall continue to watch you for inspiration, ideas, creativity and sheer determination. Thank you for sharing Rosie…

Gutted. I've been binge watching over the last few months, and now I've caught up. Seriously, amazing videos so well put together. I think people in the comments underestimate just how hard it is doing what you're doing, then add in the fact that you're videoing and editing it all. You seriously are a powerful force.

So lovely to sit with you on the new bunk bed and to hear about how the video not as planned as the renovation. I like the authenticity, and the normal life stuff is how I relate to your renovations, as my renovation have normal life in-between too. You are aging very well, however if you can edit videos for 20 hours straight you are still young.

Agree. Not wanting people around me...I am cool alone, which is different from being lonely...besides Are we really social creators? Drones are magical even though I know the magic...to see overhead in vlogs is relaxing and calming.
