"Please", "thank you", and "could you..." were simply not used between family members. When I tried, I was met with blank stares, and told to "stop wasting my breath".

@@MC-ko2mx oh I see, my family is Arabic but the elders in my family try very hard to adhere to British “culture” since they moved here before I was born, they’ve always pushed for us kids to speak to them with respect at all times, if I ever asked my nana for something without saying please or thank you she wouldn’t give it to me. They were pretty strict in that sense.

My Asian Mom and Dad are like 2 UFC fighter, always trash talking to each other (especially from my Mom side), but if there's a guest coming to our house, they act extra polite to each other. @@cherrycupcake277 😊! And with the hobby's, what I did is just trying some things! Via KZbin learning something or taking a beginners lesson somewhere in a sport, music or creative hobby. That's how I found the hobby's that I do now. I did one lesson of an instrument and I took a ceremic lessons. And via KZbin and family I learned cooking and arts! You sure will find yours but it will take some time❤️💪😄

I absolutely love how Moe and Moto constantly reaffirm Sutan. - "Am I pretty?" - "Yes you are pretty. You are pretty without makeup. You are also pretty with makeup." That right there is so important to teach kids that their choices, no matter what they are, are ok. It's a multi layered teaching of confidence, choices, acceptance from others and self and body and face health, teaching girls especially that makeup or no makeup are both equally fine, and so much more. - "Is it OK to eat a lot?" - "Yes it's ok to eat a lot." That too is a massive teaching in pleasure of food, tasting new things and expanding your world and palette, that food is good and eating for nurishment and pleasure is ok, and so many other lessons. Moe and Moto never shame or scold Sutan in any way. I think their parenting and couples goals are the most loving, respectful and supportive I've ever come across. Truly admirable ❤

My Japanese friend has parents who are still married, and living under the same roof, but leading separate lives. They are more like polite strangers, than husband and wife. Moto, Moe, and Sutan are *very* lucky to have each other. But Moe herself had been through her fair share of heartbreak, when she divorced from her first husband. Marriages are marriages, whether in the West, or elsewhere. Some work out, and some do not. The trick is to be in a marriage that does, regardless of where you are.

you can see how Japanese people care about others. They are trying not to disturb other customers at the restaurant. Instead of enjoying the dinner together, they go outside alternately for sutan and the reputation of the restaurant. I’m not sure I agree on this one. From my experience Japanese people tend to be very judgmental when it comes to children in restaurant. You don’t always have a chance to go out (due to weather or any other conditions) and when you have a crying kid you get ugly facial expressions . Although I understand it can be annoying, children are part of society and they should be treated that way:)

Based on this video, I can see that Sutan will grow up become pretty girl and well manner. I have seen lots of children shout out loud and the parents cannot do anything. However Moe san only ask her gently to lower her voice and she follow it happily. Beautiful family
