I am 47 and been playing for some time. I had to go to physical therapy for something else and asked about what to do for helping me with the pain from Beat Saber. The answer was lots of stretching... LOTS of stretching. This has reduced, but not eliminated the amount of nagging aches and pains. Having a professional show me exercises and stretches has helped. I also learned a lot about recovery time and what happens when you have repetitive movements that cause issues. Also Banana!

Can totally relate to that. I am currently on a forced break since 4 weeks since my wrists got worse up to a point everything just hurt. I was playing Beat Saber for 6 months daily with an average time of more than 1 hour per day, playing (fast) Expert+ songs after around 3 months gradually playing faster and faster songs. I bought a Quest 3 now in hopes that half the controller weight vs. the Valve Index controllers helps but seeing you struggle as well gives me thoughts that I might actually need to reduce my constant play times as well. Which sucks since I completely changed my personality and diet after starting playing Beat Saber (lost 26kg) so I really hope I can keep this very precious hobby as alive as possible.

Hi, Naysy. I'm 60 now, and have tweaked myself numerous times from all the motocross, mountain biking, surfing, skiing and snowboarding, and skateboarding that I've done since I was a wee lad. About a year ago, an old motocross injury to my right shoulder flared up so bad that I could barely even lift a fork at the dinner table. At the time, I hadn't touched Beat Saber in a couple of years. All the home remedy therapy exercises I then tried were excruciating. So I decided to give Beat Saber a go. At first, I would get up before dawn to do all my favorite modded custom maps (I'm old, so mostly '80s Alternative) on Easy. Starting with only two or three songs, I worked up to 45 minutes, then an hour at lower difficulty over a few days. I slowly progressed from there, working up to a pretty decent level, better even than I had previously achieved. After a couple of months, my shoulder got to about 95%. I'm back racing motocross, can throw a ball again, and feeling young. Bottom line, variety of movement, patience, and staying just under my limit brought an end to the pain from that injury.

I've only recently found your stuff lately because I finally bought a PSVR2 to go with my PS5 and really gotten into Beat Saber (closing in on a day played in the past month), so was looking into tips and tricks. And with the adaptor coming out this week, I've even grabbed some new games on Steam to try out using in on my PC (finally get to try Half-Life Alyx and Taskmaster VR). So I would very happily check out some content re: other things than Beat Saber from you. Those little arrows are why I found your channel, but the personality is why I have stuck around.

Naysy, you're such a gem, and I'm a sub not only because of your Beat Saber videos (even though, yes, they're a big part of your channel), but for the whole content you give us. I'm a big fan of VR in general, and you often make videos about VR discoveries and stuff ... so even if you can't make as much Beat Saber videos as you used to, it'll still be entertaining and interesting. Your whole vibe is awesome, and I couldn't care less about the specific game you play or talk about! Most important thing is you take care of yourself; don't get hurt! D:

Health is important! Keep on it. I started Beat Saber as therapy after I tore my rotator cuff. And it did get better, but it's not my best arm and gotta be sure not to over do it. If you find a good physical therapist, they might recommend some exercises to improve the support muscles that can relieve the strain on the trouble ones.

Yeah. Vermillion VR is a total oil painting simulator. It has a lot of functions that take some learning and you can blend millions of colors and export paintings at 4K or 8K. You can sell that art to a magazine or billboard, etc. Most people who want to be professional painting artists would do well to master this game. Oil paints, canvases, brushes, etc; are super expensive. Drill on this simulator 10,000 hours, then buy $10,000 of real paint equipment.

Thanks for the update Naysy! 😁 If you are looking for permission or feedback, I'd say it's your channel, it's your right to post what you would like to create, if you want to expand to other VR games in the mix to better utilise the equipment you have, and what you would like to share in other games, go for it! I'm sure community you have formed so far will still be supportive of what you decide 🙂 There are benefits to posting more variety content, allows a wider audience to see what you are up to, experience what you have experienced in all different forms, compared to channels focusing on one game or style of video where both the content and audience who engage are limited to just that one subject. I look forward to seeing what you have for us next! Stay safe, stay well! And especially take good care of your health! Health comes first over everything! 🏥

I hurt my shoulder playing Beat Saber when it first came on on the PS VP (1). It was around the end of Nov. a few years ago, I had just got it to start feeling more normal, and then on Christmas Eve I was running around... then fell down a short flight of stairs. I still have no clue what I did my I must have hyper extended my shoulder on the right side. I waited it about a 3-4 or maybe a few days after New Years even before going to a quick care when my hand went numb. They were the only ones who listened to me but I then spent 3-4 years trying to get an MRI or anything. They just kept sending me to PT and nothing was working. I was doing yoga that I put together for myself when during a shoulder opening stretch there was a huge pop and my right shoulder, that I couldn't fully open right, fell to the ground. Ever since then it has felt normal! I'm just glad that it sounds as if your doctor's are actually listening to you. I hope that you find a healthy way of dealing with it as the 3-4 years I went through was hell. I just remember getting shooting pain that went to my knucks... I swear I was turning into Wolverine that is how bad the pain was. I couldn't even sit at a computer not alone write.

I have a lot of neck issues (had 2 herniated discs over the last 10 yrs and a ton of arthritis), so from someone that understands - take care of yourself. There are things you can do to help. PT exercises were a great help. Also moving your monitors up so that your neck is in a neutral position and a supportive chair so that your posture is great. I just got VR this year after wanting one for years. I have loved Beat Saber since the first time I tried it years ago, but I can't play long due to my neck. If I can get an hour session in, that's fantastic, but most days about 30 mins is what I can handle. Do what works for you. Good luck!!!

Dude , you cannot make them happy. I started watching and took my first steps into vr after seeing one or five of your videos about Bear Saber many years ago. Your willingness to fail and learn or even when to quit is real. Whatever you choose, you will find friends, fans, and polite weirdos old and new there. You are fun, and fun to have fun with. We all have to stop playing the games game all the time, sometimes. Except for kids whose parents met in WoW, or EverQuest; I had a guilty drop his kid at his computer and task me with babysitting him in game. Worst job ever! Cheers

Banana! Your health is more important then BeatSaber Naysy. It's about having fun and being in pain isn't fun. I know that from experience. At one point I suffered a heel spur, tennis elbow and an inflammation in my shoulder from playing BeatSaber and SynthRiders too fanatically. As a result, I was not allowed to play for a while and had to take painkillers and anti-inflammatories. Since then I have also been using a brace for my elbow to help the muscles and tendons recover. The heel spur has now recovered, but the tennis elbow has not yet completely recovered. After playing a lot of BeatSaber again, the pain in my elbow and shoulder get worse, so I now alternate it more with SynthRiders. I have less trouble with my elbow and shoulder when playing SynthRiders. So I would also like to see some more SynthRiders and other dance games. Or other games where you move irl, since I can't fully stand VR. If I move in-game, but not irl, I quickly get nauseous unfortunately. So if you have any tips, I'd love to hear them. As always, thanks for your efforts and all the fun videos. P.S.: did the doctors also do bloodwork and check your blood inflammatory values? And it might indeed be that for now 2 hours of BeatSaber is just too much for your shoulder and it's just overtaxed. If that goes on too long, it can really get bad. So please look out for yourself and don't feel obligated to just make BeatSaber vids. There's indeed much more out there that might be less taxing on your shoulder, so it can rest up and heal up.

In other media, "creators" -- Writers, musicians, painters, sculptors, etc -- change as they learn more about their craft and also as commercial pressures change. One of my favorite authors spent most of the 1950s and 1960s writing children's books because that's what his publisher wanted from him. I see no reason why KZbin can't be different.
