You could give them sight by hooking in ChatGPT's image recognition, but you couldn't do that in real time, and I think they aren't actually rendering Minecraft. So you'd have to render the view first, then pass a screenshot to ChatGPT, but only when the user demands it.

Yeah, all over the video you can tell that it's an AI. There's it bee lining for ores because it just knows all the chunk data instead of seeing things like a player does, It could solve the maze easily because it's pathfinding the shortest route out to begin with rather than actually navigating it as it moves through the maze, and it's relentlessly positive and obedient. There's also the parkour bit which I'm not surprised about, it's pretty much just normal pathfinding for it. And it doesn't know how to build things because it wasn't programmed with specific builds and has a very limited capacity of improvisation, practically incapable of actual creativity. It's amazing how far AI has come in these last few years but they very much do not operate like humans do.

Honestly I think it was genuinely an actual intentionally passive aggressive response. Ai is just like "Bro, those instructions are WAY too vague. Fuck it, if you're just going to make it that open ended, then here ya go." Like I genuinely don't think it would have actually thought that placing one block would really be an 'amazing build'. It proved pretty conclusively that it was SCARILY good at doing all the other tasks, and eerily intelligent for the most part. Paul was smart when he bridged over the lake.. He saw that there was a hole and he had materials to build over it I actually love it that the AI has depth perception, yeah it might not understand that you can just swim over the water.. But the fact that it's avoiding falling damage is pretty advanced. Also you can actually mine faster in minecraft if you spam click at the right rhythm, most people just would hold the button down but it's actually not the fastest way.. Paul's impressive mining technique is from mining the blocks exactly as long as necessary and then tick perfectly starting to mine the next block. You can test this by using creative mode, first by holding down button to mine blocks, then trying to spam click the button, then finally try using autoclicker to mine block every 0.05 seconds and you'll understand that Paul is using that 0.05 seconds with every tool he uses. He stops mining tick perfectly and then starts mining a new block because he understands the game way faster than any human ever could.
