Just as a heads up, when your buddy said that One Piece "gets good" after 300 episodes, they most likely meant to say that it "gets even greater". One Piece is the sort of series that starts off with a great story and then proceeds to make a mockery of itself by continuously surpassing itself with its characters and world building.

Luffy is truly something different, bring smiles everywhere he goes. Anyway, let's stop being cheesy. What I wanted to say is that the deeper into One piece you go, it gets better and better, and you understand so much and much more and how everything is connected and relevant and also how big of a troll and genius the author of the series is. 🔥 And that comes from both manga reader and anime watcher. I'm caught up with manga and bro, the author literally just sucker punched the whole fandom into a gut, all the way since chapter 1. The amount of hype and energy and just everything is off the charts.

One Piece is definitely my favorite anime of all time. I understand people might say its too many episodes but its SO worth it! My husband introduced me to it when we first got together and every single episode until I caught up with it was worth the binge. After you see all the episodes and watch how far the straw hats have come? It hits different when you see the openings. Trust me you guys, yes its over 1000 episodes but you can do it at your own pace. That fact that there's that many episodes should tell you something. If you truly are into it you will be hooked!

God this anime was so life changing and emotional as a Shounen, defo the best from the 'Big 3' imo. I would like to say that if you cannot make time to create reaction videos, its fine, we understand it is a lot of episodes and editing takes hella time. But I would recommend you to watch/read this life changing story for your own enjoyment, after all, the goal of One Piece is to bring smiles to faces far and wide. 😁😁😁

Yupp I'm ready to watch this for an hour, welcome to the great world of One Piece (even tho it's just OPs). OP 14 mannn, it's still my fav to this day. It portrait Luffy's journey with the crew so perfectly. No I'm not crying, you are. OP 17 is for celebrating the 15th anniversary so yeah it's just for the opening, but they drip for sure I'm glad you like OP 24 even when you don't know what happened in that arc specifically. It's gonna one of the most nostalgic opening when one piece is over. It's so wholesome. 54:15 For the episode? Yup for the entire episodes. Once you reach the Wano arc, your eyes will be blessed by the animation

Speaking for myself: Naruto was the first anime I watched and it overtook my world at that point in time... however I found myself growing out of it pretty fast. One Piece has stayed with me for well over a decade and is still a series I look forward to reading what comes next and a series I can always go back to and look back on fondly. It just hits different man. Oda has just done such an amazing job crafting the world of One Piece and filled it with such an amazing and vast cast of characters. Every island we visit we get introduced to dozens of fleshed out characters with their own backstory, alliances and motivations that are personal to them. Oda might not think of everything ahead of time but he's a master at making it seem like he does. His story feels like it holds together naturally. Long term and short term storytelling are both things he excels at. In my opinion, you don't get that with Naruto. The core story might be pretty good but when you take a closer look it just seems so shallow. Like a lot of smaller stories awkwardly glued together without much thought or care. The characters are one note, their motivations simple and their allegiances even more so. In other words: 15 years later and One Piece is still an unfinished master piece and Naruto isn't even close in my mind. Just thinking out loud.

Did you know that the one where they remade the first opening was actually them singing he said it couldn’t be, but it is true😂 they are really good at singing, though One thing about one piece as you have to watch the whole show because things right at the beginning will come back very far into the show like back stories they’ll give you a backstory, but it won’t be the full backstory there will be more that comes later and shows you how that actually happened. I think it’s really cool how they do that and make it so even the smallest details can come back in the future and make such a huge difference is the world.

If you gonna watch One Piece I would recommend starting with watching Episodes 1-24! If you enjoy it watch 25-52, If it is still catching your attention skip the filler then watch 61-130. If you still onboard at that time keep on going on ahead to episode 236, Still on, keep going to 315 or 325, and If you make it there keep on to 405. If you have watch around 400 episodes whats wrong with another 200 episodes. Then of course you have seen 600 whats wrong with watching 400 more. Then you have watched 1000 episodes, then you should really catch up to the rest!

I think the general consensus from One Piece fans is that it gets good around the Arlong Park arc, which is around 40 episodes in. Not to say that the previous arcs were bad, but it's that specific arc that makes most people realize just how amazing the story is. From the grounded characters to the insane worldbuilding, and even the serious/dark topics hidden under a layer of goofy animation and carefree characters. One Piece is truly in a league of its own. Not to say the anime doesn't have problems. I could go on for a very long time about all of the issues Toei Animation has caused, but it's certainly not the worst adaptation out there. The manga is fantastic and at times the anime does do a good job of expanding upon details that Oda (the mangaka) wasn't able to. And even that 'goofy art style' allows for an abundance of characterization and displays of emotion that simply wouldn't be possible in a more realistic style. Even the length of the story aids Oda in allowing him to flesh out details that truly bring the world and its characters to life. For watching One Piece, I know your friend's '7 episodes a day' may seem crazy, but let me put it this way. At one point in time, I was watching around 40 episodes a day, which in retrospect, is insane. But, those 40 episodes were minus openings, endings (when they did endings), and recaps (which can be very lengthy). At the end of that, what I was watching was 12-15 minutes of content out of a 22-minute episode. And on top of that, for almost an entire 180 episode arc, the Dressrossa arc, I was watching at 2x speed b/c of Toei's pacing issues. So still insane, but much more manageable than at first glance. I, unfortunately, binged the series in an attempt to catch up, which isn't bad, but as many fans will tell you, the best way to enjoy One Piece is to go at your own pace and truly enjoy the story. Once you do catch up though, most agree they wish the story was longer, while also pulling their hair out at having to wait every week for a new anime episode or manga chapter. Point being, if you ever decide to dive into One Piece, watch a few more youtube videos, then take your time, and wait until you're through the Arlong Park arc before deciding whether or not to commit. Also, apologies, as I'm barely over 2 minutes into the video and already ranting and raving. 😂 It's just tied with two others for my top manga/anime and we just got some major reveals in the manga, so I'm riding on a bit of a One Piece high at the moment.

About OnePiece Fans saying "if you get to episode XXX" : thats a common misunderstanding. Thats like trying to get someone to watch the MCU by saying "if you get to avengers infinity war" saying that it gets awesome at that kind of point doesnt mean it isnt awesome the entire time. This is going to be one of my favorite One Piece opening reaction vid! Its rare to see someone appreciate and dive deep into the choice of notes and the feel of the song. My opinion is that people who say it gets good around episode 300 might still be watching or not caught up, knowing the foreshadowing oda does and what is currently going on would make those first arcs more impactful, it's all important in a way.

When OP fans say that the show gets good around ep 300, they mean that's when it gets 100% addictive. Definitely worth watching. I honestly really enjoyed it since ep 1 but that just depends on the viewer. If you decide to not watch the anime, the manga is still highly recommended, it's no.1 for a reason, after all. It also has a more impactful/different beginning than the anime. Hope you decide to start the journey! :D

While the early episodes aren't bad, most fans will tell you that the series really comes into its own in the Arlong Park arc, which is around episode 30. Which is kind of the equivalent of the beginning of the Soul Society arc, or the Chuunin Exam arc.

Since the series started in the 90s', you have to keep in mind that it's an old school shonen as you watch. Eventually, the show evolves and everyone gets hooked after a different number of episodes. I got hooked halfway through the second main arc.
