Don't let the naysayers get ya for picking marksman lol, this is a great map for marksman/snipers. You did your job perfect, you stayed within fair range of your squad and provided recon/overwatch and you made sure to not fire on friendlies. Didn't fire until you needed to either, took out that guy that was scouting your squad and then when you guys got engaged picked up a few more kills, got the machine gunner too which was really important (they provide a lot of suppression and can pin down an entire squad on their own). Then when your squad pushed into the compound you started dropping bodies 😆 and yes 4 kills 6 downs is pretty good especially with how new you are.

More squad.
@RiverSlothАй бұрын
As long as he's playing around his squad that's all that matters. I'd say it's actually not a bad pick to start as since you get the better optics so you can identify targets faster/easier, gotta remember he's brand new so he probably has trouble distinguishing the different faction camos, this can help with that. Also this is a good map for snipers and marksman, lots of long open areas that you can take advantage of.

Good to see another person into Squad. Haven't played it in a while, but wanted to give a few pointers: - You're doing a good job sticking with your team and providing support. Always keep that in mind no matter where you go, and be sure to communicate as often as you can (which I think you're doing a good job with). - For marksman, as other people have said: it's a noob trap because people think of it like COD and want to snipe. You did a good job of sticking with your team and providing cover fight. One thing of note (I skimmed through the video, so if you did, I apologize): When you're assigned as a fireteam leader, you can pull up a marker that your Squad Leader can see as well as place marks on the map. The quick-bind key (I believe) is "T" and pulls up the command wheel. Use it to quickly mark points of interest for your Squad lead whenever you spot something of note (enemies, bases, points of movement, etc.) It helps the Squad lead out with information. Also, as a marksman, you should be slightly off-set from your team (not in the main group), which allows you to get a better vantage point if you need to spot enemies and get a better position. - Be mindful of enemy squad movement. What normally often happens is that a few members will run out and then the next team will bound. If you wait half a second before firing, you'll catch more of them out in the open. - In terms of roles to play with to learn, I honestly would suggest going either Rifleman or Medic. Rifleman (with a variant scope) provides a lot of versatility and options in CQC. As for medic, you're forced to stay back with your team and be aware of potential gaps (since you're main job is to keep people alive). I came on as a medic and it's helped me with tactics. - Keep in mind that the game is objective-based unless the gamemode says otherwise. Getting kills helps with obtaining those objectives, but being off-point or not being a position to help your team take/defend the objective is counter-productive. Whether it's on-site attack/defense or taking the enemy's attention away from a point, always play with the mindset of "how will it help the team" - it'll allow for you to get a better overall view and possibly help with winning the rounds. - Aim for the body instead of the head. You're still getting used to the bullet drop and leading, so even though a headshot will do more damage, a body shot is a better guarantee that you'll actually hit. Once you get the aiming down, you can start shifting targets. I may jump onto Squad in the future, it's been ages. If you have a steam, I'd be happy to hop in an play a bit with you. EDIT: Also, for call outs, here's a good template: Description. Direction, Distance. Say what the enemy is (in a general term until you can identify what's what), give the map direction or degree (it can be as simple as saying W, SW, NW, etc.), and tell the distance. Distance can be something like "Close" (you can hip-fire and hit them with little to slight issues), "mid-range" (you have to aim down sights, but don't have to lead your shots), and "far" (you see them in the distance and have to lead your shots/you need to see them with a scope). You also need to say this from the perspective the main body of your squad, so that don't have to do trigonometry to find out where you're talking about. So, for example: "Enemy Vehicle, NW, Far" means that you saw a a vehicle (can be anything) NW from your squad's position that's at a long range. "Enemy Infantry, West, Close!" means that there's enemy infantry to the west that's within CQC distance.

You are good with the DMR. Like your comms too. One thing I see that will help you is that you dont go prone nearly as often as you should and run in the open without checking for a bit, if you have optics thats your main strenght. Scout for your squad before they cross in the open. Avoid rooftops too, they are usualy too exposed, if you are in a window, shoot from far back into the room at an off angle, you will be much harder to spot this way. In time you will learn the maps and what positions have overwatch on what. You usualy want to stay in a different angle from your squad just like you did and create crossfire, like an L shape.

@@RiverSlothi feel you, yeah honestly it’s all pretty much mapped. local is one tap right on the dpad and squad is hold right on the dpad. you can make it work if you really really want to. i still end up pressing the keyboard sometimes cause it’s faster to press 5 then to press down on the dpad to scroll through until finding the bandages and stuff but it’s such a slow pace game most times so it all works out.

I have more than 900h in Squad and despite the fact that the role of sniper is the one I have used the least you are quite good at playing, what happens is that people think that this game to win or be good you have to kill. I assure you that this game focuses much more on teamwork and the coordination of your platoon, both that of the rest of the squads than the simple fact of just killing, that's what the Cod or BT are for,. I've seen a couple of your videos and you're good at all that, you communicate and try to help your team like you did in the video where you're a doctor, which by the way you did great. Little by little you will improve and you will adapt better to the situation and you will see that it will be more and more fun, the important thing is to communicate and organize well the defense and the attack, so always the squad leaders as well as the general are very very very important because it depends on them the coordination of the team.
@herurichmond8661Ай бұрын
As someone with 1k hours I would not recommend playing marksman as a new player until you know basic rang finding, bipoding and stamina awareness. But in the video you did a pretty good job at communicating with your squad and utilizing the compass, I would recommend watching this video so that you have a better understanding of the game. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYfXYYylnpqApq8si=n26jcy_UXSYCS23I

You should aim for the top of the triangle for most engagements. I noticed you looked for the small circle below the triangle, the circle is for very long ranges. Thats why most of your 1st or 2nd shots missed, aimed a bit too high, but I understand, it was some distance, but 100/200meters is fine to aim with the top of triangle for this weapon. Still that was decent kills, not bad at all.

Marksman is one of the harder classes and noob traps by the way. It's actually more of a spotting role then going out solo and getting "player kills" Looks like you had enough foresight/awareness to do more of the former. It's also not very good in city/urban maps. Like Narva.

Whacha talking about worst sniper? You were staying with your squad, communicating, making sure you weren't shooting friendlies, changing position when the one you were in didn't give you the angle you liked. You made a that whole side of the blue warehouse a very scary place to be for the other team, even the shots that missed would have kept their heads down and prevented them from covering that angle.
