What's funny about this scene is that i saw it perhaps 10 years ago while i was still a child and it affected me so much that I always recalled it. I forgot the name of the movie only to find it now after so many years passed away. In a metaphorical way, this scene would be in my small box of childhood memories ❤️

This film has been my favourite for many years. Every single scene is a treasure. But as years go by, I realise that the scene that has taught me probably the deepest lesson as an adult is this one. Amelie turning the TV off. I think it is one of the most revolutionary scenes I have ever seen in any movie. ❤

I have such a box somewhere. From what I can remember it includes confetti from the grand finale of a Cirque Du Soleil show my parents took me to see, a couple dried flowers left by the leprechaun who set off but failed to be caught in the leprechaun trap I made for St. Patricks day when I was in grade school, and a pretty awesome small fairy doll that my dog chewed a wing off of. I was quite amused by the fact growing up watching Amelie from time to time the bar has shifted from funniest film to one of the saddest feel good films. I don't think it was a game, just little figurines that little boys would play with, like you'd play with GI Joes. Back in the 50's, cycling and the Tour de France were very important to French children. And later on in the movie you see a flashback of the box's owner playing with the cyclists by re-enacting sections of the Tour de France.
