With full respect, include few additional points in next talk 1) why common people doesn’t need to face corruption in America for day to day transactions 2) How new American medias ( e.g Yotube ,WhatsApp etc..) are enabling democratization of information, transparency, new business opportunities across the globe 3) How American corporations and hard working employees make people’s life better across the globe through innovation (e.g internet, tech, modern medicine, modern transportation tech are few) 4) social security, disability insurance , Medicare and other social programs for supporting elderly and how it is funded. I agree with many things said here. but as an indian I experienced unlimited freedom after coming to the us. Mitrayan should go to the government sectors in the us to experience the difference between american civil servants and indian kings men. you can feel democracy when you see blue collar working class with dignity of labor, they dont act worthless like in india begging "saarr.... sir.... " to superiors, they call their boss by the name. They can walk into a bad and have drinks together regardless to job title.

I think you should watch the movie "12 Years a Slave " . You'll then understand how American society was before and how people treated each other. It's truly sad that people endured such horrific hardship and abuse. Civilization and politics haven't fully matured anywhere in the world. True education is probably the key, but even that hasn't been perfected yet. Modern education often focuses on independence, but ironically, it can make people so independent they don't care about anyone but themselves. Then, when they face trouble, they have no one to turn to and become depressed, unsure how to cope. Perhaps the right education system is still being developed

I think Maithreyan needs to understand more about Americans and their life. You spend only fewer months there. But it will take at least 2-3 years to understand the system. So, needs to wait on commenting about American democracy. Here the personal freedom is at most, but at the same time, you need to respect others' freedom. If university students have the right to protest peacefully, the other students have the right to attend classes and come to campus. Their freedom is also important.
