This brings back lots of good memories. The run up the hill was very fast on the old track! Back in the day, you could ride a pit bike all the way around the track on the spectator side of the fence and nobody would give you any crap. Sure do miss that!

On board cams back in 79! That is crazy when you figure the technology for cameras was heavy and cumbersome in the day. VERY cool to see from their POV on those old beastly machines.

You are correct - in 1979, a four-race season, Freddie was on a Ducati for the first two events, then he won rounds three and four aboard a Kawasaki KZ-1000…his first wins in AMA Superbike. That makes a good trivia question!

Reverse gear shift, very common, stops your foot being caught under the peg while upshifting in a corner....
