MHW Iceborne: Rajang solo -5'03'55 - Hunting Horn

The ultra-aggressive Rajang! This run wasn't so bad, minus the annoying monsters interrupting the fight. Tremor resistance 1 is really helpful. Outside of the tail, each part you break will reward you with a topple (if Rajang isn't near a wall or already down).
Edit: The reason I go over the affinity cap is that Rajang's head cannot be tenderized. This means that weakness exploit will stay at 30% instead of 50%.

Even though I've been a HH main since the beginning of the game, I have a lot of trouble with Rajang specifically (and don't even get me started on Furious Rajang). I personally run a support/defensive build, but I was thinking of making a build with a long sword or bowgun because I could barely touch a hair on Rajang, and I always called for an SOS. So I couldn't believe my eyes while watching this brilliant video 😳 This inspired me to put on some pants and look into a high attack/critical build with one of my HHs. You're a genius and a HH hero, thank you mucho for posting this 🙏🏼

Yeah he does that if he touches a wall before he gets downed. Other times Deus just managed to keep him away from walls with good spacing to get him to actually fall down and do more damage, but if he had hit a wall all those times he fell, he would’ve counter attacked Deus with a punch like at the end ;)

Honestly IB made me try the HH again and I'm actually really enjoying it. The spin is so satisfying and its more complex than a hammer. One thing I dont do enough is use 'play song' attacks enough. Most because I havnt sat down and practiced what swings happen with each directional input but you knocking him outta his swipes with it showed true power.

Ya know, Rajang has way too many mechanics going on at once. A super-state that must be ended by attacking the tail, an anti clutch claw mechanic, situational trap immunity, an anti trip mechanic, and his weak spots got significantly buffed so the whole "glass cannon" idea has gone out the window. I don't mind all these things individually but fuck, can other monsters get some love too lol.

It wasn't flawless but I appreciate it, thanks! Yes, it does increase the duration of "all melodies effects extended". Horn Maestro lvl 2 is a must-have now. It delays the need to refresh songs and lets you use your strong moves more often.

Capturing it will always be better because you get more rewards if you do. It's just in order to get that material you have go break it's face, which is hard to get to when he's punching 24/7. As long as you break it's face you can still get it even if it's captured.

Rajang is a devil I swear I just fought him with randoms the other day and he just kept punching me relentlessly. It was just like jojo bizarre adventure. I died once and when he enraged and fired his lazer he killed 3 of my teammates in that one attack. I was so surprised and salty I finally decided to upgrade my namielle longsword (it might not be effective, but I look fabulous).

Gajalaka's throwing knives at you, but hitting the rajang instead. at 2:12 pay attention to the right side, you can see the knives go into Rajang at around 2:14-15 also right before 2:42 you can see knives go into him again, putting him to sleep. the little suckers are better companions than the cat lol.
