New to this space, I am loving the conversation. There is a new bill released sometime on 4th August called the Marriage (Amendment) Bill 2023. This bill comes to introduce divorce by mutual consent or agreement. It aims to remove the blame game and fault based nature of divorce in Kenya. Time to champion for this bill to assented into law.

The Marriage (Amendment) Bill 2023 is a big development. It would definitely streamline the divorce process and reduce unnecessary conflict.

I am a new subscriber, I am here to listen to Doc Amakove. She is one woman I respect she has helped us in speaking up about the US embassy and how hard things are. So our case( by our I mean a group of over 500 families) is different. We are all married to US Citizens and have initiated the process of filling for a visa to join our partners in the US and let me tell you Maina we are being frustrated. We are having to wait for 16months plus just to get an interview date. The process is a little diff from the other visas, we don't get to choose a date from the calendar like other visa category applicants, we have to wait for the embassy to send us an interview slot and it's been a long unnecessary wait that they are attributing to the rona pandemic. The visa we have all applied for is called the CR1/ IR1 1 visa it's a spousal visa.
@TheJagero

Hi there, Welcome to the channel! Doc Amakove is fantastic, and we're glad you're here. The wait times for CR1/IR1 visas can be incredibly frustrating, especially with large groups. The pandemic has definitely caused delays, but 16+ months is a long time.

The Kenyan government needs western world than they need Kenya! It’s poverty that’s making this restriction more difficult. As long as unemployment is over 100% in Kenya there is no way Kenyans can have visa on arrival in Europe. So if we want to be treated badly Kenya has to improve its economy so that people don’t run away to this countries. African citizens have been treated so badly that why should outsiders treat you right?
@TheJagero
@TheJagero 3 ай бұрын
It's true that economic development is a key factor in visa restrictions. Kenya has made strides in recent years, but there's definitely more work to be done.
