Do you 'tone' the paint due to 'distance effect' I.e. a genuine Ford Blue will not look right on a 1/4 model.

Why can't you use real carbon fibre for the body? Does the steering work?
@AmalgamCollection4 жыл бұрын
We use decals because we can more accurately recreate the effect of carbon fibre at scale. The weave of real carbon fibre doesn't downscale well. As for the steering, as a rule, no, though some of our models in the past have had a little steering movement. We wouldn't want to encourage people to actively play with our models - they are very intricately detailed and therefore extremely fragile.

@@AmalgamCollection That's interesting, I didn't know it was very difficult to made carbon fiber in a small scale. However, it would be interesting if there was a way to make the tires from some kind of rubber that flattens near the outer edges like on a real tire. I've seen one brand do this in 1:18 scale! I have no idea what they used that could replicate that but it makes a big difference in realism.

Amalgam is great if you have tens of thousands of dollars.

@@AmalgamCollection So Sensitive ! Your models are great you just have to be a millionaire to own one.
@AmalgamCollection Жыл бұрын
@@stuka97 Not at all! We're just saying you don't need a million dollars to appreciate our work. 🖼 In fact, we developed ranges of smaller scale models (1:8 scale cars, 1:12 scale nosecones, 1:4 scale steering wheels, and miniature sculptures) especially to cater to the larger markets who have neither the space or the capital for one of our 1:8 scale models.

But really, $13K (U.S.) for a model??? AutoArt does it very well for 1/10 that amount!
