being an indian and punjabi I dont think that giving water to states of our country where there was no water at all (at that time) was wrong move, at that time punjab was having excess water and other states were not having enough water so it was important for people of rajasthan to get water but the major blunder that nehru did was in 1960s signing indus water treaty with pakistan without any conditions , that was real water of india going out of india and after signing also pakistan attacked india many times we could have built dam on those rivers and stopped water supply to pakistan and redirect to india then this problem should not be there and about haryana himachal separation , this separation was necessary as almost all states in india are based on geographical and linguistic diffrences so haryana and himachal should be separate states . i am not spreading any kind of hate just expressing my views about your comment on water given to rajasthan

It is a wrong move . First its against the law. Indian constitution deems that all states have full control of all their natural resources- WATER. The 5 rivers are in Punjab proper hence the name but Nehru/Gandhi flouted that law to take the waters and supply Rajestan, Haryana and Delhi FREE of cost for 62 years. Thats 75% of punjabs water taken free. Punjabi farmers have to go without. Dalbara Singh took it to the SC and Indira threatened him. Now they want the remaining 25%. Still you cry. still you want more. Whats the matter with you. Would any other state give 75% of its natural asessts to other states free of charge. Name that state and what they gave. Punjab will be a desert by 2030 because India has been robbing Punjab. You pay a water bill don't you. They don't give it you free but you have it from Punjab for free. We want back pay and the waters back.
