Amanda finds out Trevor has died

At this point AMC lost all chredibility with me,there's is no way Janet would kill Trevor,she loved him,no matter how off she went,something she tried to prepare for that's why she chose to go to an institite,she knew there was a part of her that was still off,but she was determined to beat it,so she would never kill trevor who was there for her thick/thin,he believed in her,an she needed that.

James Kiberd was a jerk to Kate Collins, causing her to quit. He caused more problems behind the scenes, and AMC fired him and wrote off the Dillon family. Killing off his character was just a way to get rid of the character and to bring Collins back as Janet. Guess they did not want to recast Trevor.

What a stupid twist! When Robin Mattson replaced Kate Collins (who played "Natalie" & "Janet"), she had transformed and was happily married to "Trevor." I liked the actress who played "Amanda" as a kid--unusually good for a kid actor on soaps, as was Tommy J. Michaels as "Timothy Hunter Dillon" ("Tim Man"), who was allowed to grow up on the show, and The Dillon's dog "Harold" was even a semi-regular character in those days.

I'll never forgive this for this plot. There's NO WAY Janet would have killed Trevor. Absolutely none. Also, Kate Collins was a good Natalie but Robin Mattson was an awesome Janet.

"The Dillons" in those days were about the happiest family on "AMC" outside of "The Martins." "Trevor" had a unique style, and I loved his nicknames for his family--"Dollface" for "Natalie," "Tinkerbell" or "Tink" for niece "Haley" (and he "Uncle Porkchop"), and "Janet From Another Planet" for "bad Janet Green."

Megan McTavish's 3rd stint as head writer during this time. She infamously hated that Janet had recovered from mental illness under (her supposed rival) renowned AMC head writer Lorraine Broderick. As we know, Broderick returned to write the final months of All My Children - resurrected Dixie, passively ret-conned Trevor's death (it was from then-on referred to as "Trevor simply died, then Janet froze him because she couldn't accept his death"), and undid a number of awful things that happened under McTavish & later Charles Pratt, while bringing the HEART back into All My Children.

the way they killed trevor off was out of character for janet. yet i know why he had to be killed off. its because robin mattson was unavailible to return and kate collins left because she HATED james kiberd (trevor) and they couldn't recast him. they wanted janet back so trevor had to die. apparently james kiberd was a jerk to work with and a pervert. he french kissed kate collins during a scene and she never forgave him for it or something like that. im not sure. but i know they did not get along.

"Janet" started off a nutcase, but the love of her daughter brought her around and she & "Trevor" had genuinely fallen in love, married. I read that Collins was returning to the role briefly, so they must have had "Janet" cross the sanity line again? This is why this soap is going down the tubes--no respect for its past good points, re-writing already-resolved plots--the same mentality that on one prime-time soap wrote an entire season off as a dream!

The only time JANET really lloved TREVOR is when KATE COLLINS played the character. After that ROBIN MATTSON played JANET, JANET said many times, that she didn't love TREVOR they way she did when she first met him, that she just wanted to be with AMANDA. Not saying thats why she killed him. WE ALL know shes was off her medication. But could explain why she did it so easy.

This is very true. She was all into him when Collins played Janet. That version even killed Will to prove her love for Trevor. Mattson''s Janet was all into Amanda, not Trevor. She had a thing for Tad and then got involved with Pierce. I actually hated that they put Trevor and Janet together given what she did to Natalie. I mean, I would have rather they put Trevor with Brooke than Janet.

@@grobanworldnews4216 Right. The writers were all over the place after TREVOR realized that JANE COX was really JANET. It would have been more interesting if the writers didn't try to make TREVOR and JANET a family bond. Its just didn't make sense AT ALL. I rather they had put JANET into other scenarios that dealt with crimes, and mystery with other characters like her old jail cell mate that was black mailing her. The TAD and JANE COX situation was interesting too. oH....And they should of kept TREVOR a detective instead of a lawyer. Not decent writing at all.

This was AMC turning unwatchable. There was no reason to kill off Trevor. Just for cheap dramatics. Really poor writing. I don't think AMC was watchable after 2001 or so.

After they took pre 9-11 programming out of all my children, the show got terrible ! The entire janet vs Natalie plot was all about the aliens that were comeing to earth to repace us . But they blew up the twin towers to stop it . They were hiding some very scary things under thouse 2 towers ! Things that were going to end the human race thats why they destroyed the two towers .
