Emmm there are quite a few elite female athletes that have had kids and still been at the top....so much so that you don't seem to have noticed until it was highlighted to you.

She knew about her pregnancy long before she became pregnant? That is some serious Bene Gesserit skill. Reality is there's literally nothing that says she won't come back to exactly where she was. If anything she'll probably come back stronger and better. While post-pregnancy comebacks are not as common in football (yet), it happens all the time in other sports. More than anything it allows the athlete to fully heal the minor injuries they all ignore during a season, build strength etc. My guess is she won't be as fast as she was at 25, but that has to do with her age. (Which is something Arsenal was well aware of when they signed her). Then again she was never a Usain Bolt. She makes up for that with her movement and physique - with that offensive threat in set pieces as an added bonus. She will be just fine. The only question is if Arsenal still have her in their plans. She should realistically be ready for a comeback any day now. It's like 5 months since she gave birth. I've seen pro athletes make a comeback after less than a month.
