Ronda played an incredible role in the development of women's MMA in the UFC. She fought a blitz krieg like style with fast paced finishes in seconds, not minutes. Somewhere along the line, she developed a decent striking ability, but by no means her main weapon, which is obviously judo. Her idiot coach Edmund did her a great disservice by encouraging her striking and trying to build on its somewhat average foundation. This was her downfall and we saw it surface during her first loss against Holly Holme. Her UFC career is surely over, she has nothing left, but a sizable pile of money, which will bring her into her next phase of life. She is a very emotional woman, and as a competitor, that can and has worked against her. Also, like many athletes whose life is spent in dedication to one endeavor, she is quite immature in many ways. Her friends and especially her mother need to stand by her now and support her transition and encourage her to develop a healthy attitude towards lasting happiness.

Ronda tried clinching and working her Judo game in both of her last two fights. Last night she even tried clinching 4 different times. Her problem is WMMA is still young and developing, so her opponents just get better and better. First Holly was able to keep Ronda from clinching by using good footwork and counters, keeping Ronda out of clinching range. Then last night Amanda was able to keep Ronda at the end of her punches. Ronda was the same old Ronda in her last two fights. Her opponents just got better and smarter

Rhona is and always was a media creation. She benefited from being in the worst division, dominating over shit fighters and a media's desire to champion a woman as the baddest fighter on the planet. The woman they championed also needed to be media friendly (they needed to speak English well and a little attractive) which Rhonda was. She could still have a career in WWE if she wants. They built Lesnar up well and made him a monster and probably could rehab her quite a bit. I always felt she was destined to go there after her UFC career was over.

Not quite. She's definitely great, she just has no striking ability and has no clue how to apply her grappling to MMA. Much the opposite of Damien Maia who understands range and timing to the degree where he can destroy great strikers by timing perfect takedowns. The dangerous mindset of Rousey is that she both doesn't understand striking, and thinks she understands striking at the same time. This is what led to her downfall.
