This video brought terrible clarity and fresh anguish a year ago... from age four to ten, I lived in a basement. I mean, literally a basement. With a bipolar mother from whom there was no escape. I remember when, and how, my 'hopefulness burst.' The song is haunting because for some, it is literally true. Human evil is real and it stalks abroad in the land. For those of us who need it, and are strong enough to confront it, this song is also an agent of change. Thank you, Amanda & Edward, for putting it out there. And to all the elephants in the room I say: get professional help. It really works.

Check out a) the legendary pink dots and b) virgil pink [does his own videos for their songs and others]. Singer from LPD is one of Amanda's heroes, this song here is them together. Anyway, may you find and and focus upon art that is so needed.

Holy sweet mother of F!!!! This is truly a hypnotic work of art, I can't even begin to formulate words for how profound, eerie, brilliant this is. I had fallen in love with Edward's voice/music in 1989. I became deeply intrigued by you Amanda when "Girl Anachronism" came out. Both you and Edward are unlike any other musicians, you both cannot be compared to anyone else because you're a trillion percent original. I love that Edward is your hero and love even MORE that the both of you made this MASTERPIECE ♥ This video chilled me to the bone. I was covered in goosebumps from head to toe. I love what was done with all the fabric, wood, the movement of the performers. There's nothing like this. You and Edward have created something so phenomenal, so mind blowing that I honestly don't think I can full absorb the brilliance of this in it's entirety in one sitting. I so wish you were doing a Canadian date ♥

I know we bring our own stories to life in the gaps left in excellent art. Amanda and Edward, thank you for the space to grieve/celebrate those we have lost and to let the deep yearning and longing have its way with me. Time is strangely fluid and yet utterly implacable and our life is in the hands of every tick....tick....tick.

This, both in music and video is a masterpiece. There is no need to explain the reason. It is either made for you or not. I am happy for Amanda and Edward. This work ( I can spin a rainbow) was longer in the making than most people seem to think. I am so glad to hear the result of a friendship. Sing While You may.

@eastvandb7 жыл бұрын
Isn't it more likely that her being a good story teller is one of the elements of a mutual attraction?
@ostarasluv7 жыл бұрын
Probably. There is certainly an evolution in her storytelling though. Of course, time and love and becoming a mother have all played a big part in this emotional enrichment. I was merely pointing out the development in her storytelling abilities and tipping my hat to her blooming creative side. I didn't mean to imply Neil was the cause. Simply a tribute to their camaraderie and kismet relationship.
@coffeedesign6 жыл бұрын
Don't discount the fact that she made this album with her songwriting hero, Edward KaSpel. His narrative style is quite unique. He's got a VERY deep discography, but begin with the music of The Legendary Pink Dots before you travel into his solo work, or his other projects, The Tear Garden, Mimir, etc.
@samsonpilbrow26187 жыл бұрын
can't believe I paid for this crap. Love you Amanda, but this is terrible, self indulgently experimental, and the lyrics are pretentious as all hell. Seriously missed the mark in my opinion.
