I like Howe, but it really doesn’t help that we have a pushover manager that is too nice. I think that makes it worse and makes the premier league think they can bully us even more. We need a no nonsense manager like Mourinho. In reality, I know it’s PIF that the premier league deal with really, but you know what I mean. You get the point I’m trying to make- the person who goes on TV to answer questions on our behalf (Howe) is too much of a soft touch. A character like Mourinho is what we need until people accept we are here to stay and they get over their jealousy.

I more meant clubs without the traditional prem pedigree, like a Blackburn, Leeds or dare I say it, a Sunderland do. Nothing against the clubs, just wish the league was spaced out a bit more fairly across the country, as with the wealth and opportunity. Anyway, not looking to argue. All the best lad 👍

Your point about us not being able to spend the PIF's money is right. Because of FFP and PSR rules, Ashley could have afforded to run the club in exactly the same way (if he'd given a net spend/loss of £105M over the 3 years, which he couls have easily afforded). The problem was he WASN'T running the club as a separate business (which the new owners are), we were basically the advertising arm of SD.

This is clear persecution of Newcastle United. Where are all these voices when it comes to 100+ violations by Manchester City or the spending speer at Chelsea? Where were all these voices when Mark Hughes had the freedom to build two whole squads of players while Manchester City's Manager, and then because he couldn't understand talent if it slapped him in the face, a whole new squad of hyper-expansive players for Mancini? After a summer spending spree, their £50 million left back got injured so let's just buy another one. I don't blame Manchester City, clubs should be allowed to spend whatever they want, but how can, after all the Billions of pounds spent by three or four clubs, the FA just step in and prevent anyone from spending, and thus competing? Isn't football supposed to be a competition with equal rules for every participant? If the FA was so worried about club spending, why not give every club 5 years of spending before introducing such tyrannical rules, which are killing Th Premier League? No, this is BS, this was never about "Fair Play" it was a political move against certain owners. If the FA was serious, the sale of players from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea wouldn't count as "club income" for 5 seasons, thus, levelling the playing field. The FA and this "Fair Play" BS must be imploded and completely rebuilt from scratch, by the clubs. As is, we see an institution that only favours the status quo and the clubs that already have billionaire squads.
