It would make perfect sense to have it near callerton park As most the players haven't got far to travel (darras hall) I do believe from 1990 to 1994 Newcastle set up training camp at that very location.

It is not a bad idea to put it the new facilities near the airport, where you're on about, think about it, when coming in to land from a midweek away game in Europe after an outstanding performance in the champions league, what a brilliant idea of going straight to the luxury 10/10 training ground complex to endure and enjoy an amazing facilitated spa recovery, and get medically reassured etc... before going round the corner to Darras Hall where your home is, now that's what a superstar performer would want to be able to have at the ready. You can just see it happening!! Peace and quiet luxurious and out the way, what more could THEY/YOU possibly need/want...? Cheers for another quality video adam mate, keep up the good work, me names Geordiee Ladd, giz a shoutout in your next video man!! cheers ! TOON TOON!!!

Got to be Woolsington Hall, exposure to all flights coming and going, would allow great player access to London. Everyone see's it coming and going from the region on flights. Close to Darras Hall area for players. No brainer really.
@GlenjaminCalculus2 жыл бұрын
I do also think there's more than enough land on the current site if you include the academy and nearby areas. You could build a new main building whilst using the old and there'd still be enough training space. The players rarely go much further down the patch it's on now.

hi Adam another great video as normal , just had a look on google maps and thought if they wanted to extend the present location you could incorperate Darsley park,Whitley park and persuade Newcastle University to part with the Hockey pitches at Longbenton Sports Ground plus once the DWP moved that would give you a massive area . ( just a thought )

Location near to Darras Hall makes sense. There must also be quite a choice of locations across the river in Gateshead. The club could help out The Heed by allowing them to use it as a stadium., given that the plans to build their own seem to have been shelved.

Personally I think that the club will either buy or arranging a long term rental of a large portion of the Town Moor. There's ample space for what has been shown on the architectural drawings and have space for the Hoppings and the cattle to co-exist.

I think you are near but not quite there. My guess is west of the airport and under the flight path. All farming land upto and past the Newburn area and it will be cheaper than most areas and a blank canvass to boot. Or we simply share with Sunderland....its a thought.

Woolsington hall is very very hard to actually see the dimensions.....is it 92 acres adam.....ie what is it across and wide.....?...Agree with you on the location and the seller for sure but what are the actual dimensions of the land available....?...I have no doubt sir john would probably give them it tbh........but my only question I currently cant find the answer to is how wide and long is the land available...?5mile out of town is perfect.....I personally think the club will also start buying buildings near the ground where they feel expansion is possible after the current expansion......st james park can actually be extended 2 ends the issue is atm unless they buy out buildngs only 1 end is possible currently.....if they buy up the empty properties that hopefully become available the option to expand 2 ways is possible......agree on the town moor but I still think if the right offer came with added funds for the council to spend on alternative current land they may still do it....no1 has ever offered money for that land and extra to conservate another as a goodwill gesture.

Short term I think they will improve the current facilities as much as they can. Might be wrong but do the reubens not own part of/all Gosforth Park grounds? Plenty room there to build a complex similar to man city/St George's Park.

None of them areas you say will be chosen, my thought is it will be built where the metro radio arena site is. Lots of land there and in view of St James park. So when they train they can see where they will be playing , like Manchester City has done with the etihad.
@bongeyedbill93552 жыл бұрын
There are playing fields already there bro, plus a lil woodland with a pond in it. I used to explore down there as a kid. That would make a top place for the training facilities, the only thing is, the woolsington residents are a bit snobby and might not like it bro!

Good video Adam however there are planning constraints in place preventing any possible development. Sir John Hall tried and failed to get planning on the site so it makes it an unlikely candidate (unfortunately)
@shaunwade80592 жыл бұрын
@big Dog they do! They also have huge ambition to match! But that doesn’t mean they will get planning permission on a site that has already been rejected for training facilities and then rejected for a private housing estate. Chris Waugh (who is a very close friend of Sir John Hall) has already said that the site is unsuitable for the Club and has been rejected on the grounds that planning permission would be highly doubtful.

@shanajackson50442 жыл бұрын
There are cows in the field because it is commons ground. It is controlled by Newcastle Council and the Freemen of the city, who have historical rights to graze cattle on it. I am sure the council would have turned all the town moore into a massive private housing development given half the chance, but they need permission of the freemen, which has zero chance of coming to be honest. It is all protected by law, see below--> The Town Moor has been protected by an Act of Parliament since 1774. The Act secured the Freemen’s grazing rights and there has long been a feeling of public “ownership” of the Moor. How the Town Moor is managed today is set out by the Newcastle upon Tyne Town Moor Act 1988, which updated the 1774 Act. A joint committee of the Freemen and the city council decides on the management under the terms of the 1988 Act, which says that the Moor should be maintained as an area of open space in the interests of the inhabitants of the city.

100% will not happen at Woolsiington, residents around the area will object to any developments in the area. One of the problems with the Woolsington Hall site is apart from the state of the Hall buildings which are Listed Buildings, the park itself is on the registered Park and Garden national list which gives it the same protection as a listed building. NUFC would have the same problem that they had with the Leazes Park extension.
