Your "Wooly is one of the kids trapped" theory is pretty good, but I have another one. I think (and Ryetoast pointed out) that Wooly is probably an employee at Hameln. In the "We can fix it" tape, Wooly looks up, sits on the bench and says "I can't handle this anymore!", which implies someone can put him inside the tapes and pull him out of them. That would also explain why Amanda/Rebecca doesn't like him. She knows he's a Hameln employee

I agree with this. In particular, I think he is one of the doctors who operated on Amanda and the other kids to link their souls to these tapes. Amanda hates Wooly and repeatedly mentions trusting the wrong people and being betrayed while looking at him. The Jordan possum also attacks him more viciously than he does Amanda. Wooly talks to Amanda more like an adult trying to placate a child, trying to keep her following Hamelin's script over actually comforting her. When she killed him in the first game, she did so by sawing into his head at a hospital under the guise of helping him. Also, there's a secret tape where we actually see the real Amanda is hooked up in a hospital-like room at Hamelin. An employee catches the person taping it and says that they can't be there and the employee is clearly voiced by Wooly's VA.

Representative: "Still running.”] It sounds like they doctored a fake version of the message to trick her based on what they had, which of course would have fooled Rebecca considering she’s just a kid. Small detail I noticed: the company is called hameln, their mascot is a mouse/rat, and their slogan is “follow us to fun” There is a German city called hameln where the fairy tale of the pied piper originated. He would mind control the rats of the town to follow him and save the residents from disease. If residents didn’t pay him for their services, he would send the rats back to them. Here, the company uses Amanda the adventurer to mind control the children to follow the company to them to the studio (or wherever they need them to go)

Not so fun fact. The Pied Piper is based off true events. At least recorded facts. We don't know how much of it is true or not But at some point all the children in Hamelin were stolen except one deaf boy. Maybe the piper had convinced everyone he had magic so much they followed him under the wrongful belief they were bewitched or a plague got the kids and no one wanted to admit plague hit for justifiable reasons so they came up with that. Stranger Things in history happened.

I'm 100% definite that wooly is someone who was placed in the tapes to watch over Amanda to ensure her complacency. If he wasn't there, Amanda would've let her episodes go into an irredeemable direction that could actually *scare* the children watching the show from sitting through the episodes. Wooly is constantly doing whatever he can to guide Amanda to do whatever hameln wants them too Personally I believe it's either Sam who did it to be with Rebecca or, most probably, a hameln employee there to keep Amanda fulfilling hamelns plans. Wooly definitely is NOT a child. An abducted child wouldn't be trying to stay in the tapes. Wooly is trying to KEEP Amanda in the tapes and STAY there himself. That's a LOYALIST. It also explains WHY Amanda's demon is petrified of woolys He's more powerful than Amanda. But if he behaved that way, no one would want to watch the show. Wooly is definitely NOT an innocent victim. She hates him because he's really a monster behind the scenes.

I think I remember seeing someone say something about the Butcher that made sense to me. He's a surgeon, the one who performed the operation that tied Rebecca to the tape(s) and became Amanda, and was one of the last hideous faces she saw before everything changed. One thing that bothers me though is Wooly's demon that emerged. If Amanda's emotions going out of control was the reason for the demon appearing (or to protect her and the tapes if what 'she' at the end said was to be believed), what happened exactly that caused Wooly's to appear, since they do have some influence over one another? Hopefully there will be some explanations in the next game.

I feel like that person who recorded Rebecca in the medical room is the same person who recorded the outside of the recording booth when she was saying the demon names. Both times the person got caught as the tapes ends in static David mentioned in the secret tape a kid named Lauren disappeared. In case you guys don't remember, Lauren is the kid from the secret tape in the first game who was fixated on watching Amanda the Adventurer the day of her birthday. Her parents try to call her for cake and ice cream but when they turned their backs, Lauren disappeared.

There is two Woolys. The cute character. Innocent. And the Guard Wooly in the tv world and tapes. Guard Wooly is no child. He is evil. He is the Jailer. A Guard who is meant to keep Amanda on script. I feel that Wooly was also a child at some point. I believe Wooly was a child that Hamelin successfully indoctrinated into the show - meaning he lost his humanity and resistance. This makes Wooly the poster child for Hamelin and his loss of both resistance and humanity has been able to garner a stronger demon. Amanda still can combat and control hers whereas I believe destroying the child behind Wooly gives control of the Wooly demon to Hamelin. This way, they can use the demon as hitman and the character to keep other characters like Amanda at bay. It would also explain why Amanda hates Wooly. He is Hamelin propaganda and represents what Hamelin want her to become - a puppet for demonology at the cost of her child counterpart Rebecca. Amanda has no sympathy for Wooly because the child behind Wooly is too far gone.

The foreshadowing of the name hamelin is phenomenonal, as its the same name as the town in the story of the pied piper, in which a man leads away the rats from the town of hamelin. But after the towns people refused to pay him, he lead the children away and drowned them, symbolizing what hamelin is doing to children who watch the show

I’m not very good at explaining but I also have some thoughts about this part 34:27 I’ve seen some other people theorize that Wooly could be in the tapes to keep Amanda traped there as like a warden of sorts and if you take a lil look at the characters expression Amanda and the Opossum are panicking trying to get away while Wooly is just calmly sinking into the ground? Could be a reference to hamlen creating him as a device to trap people’s souls in the tapes

Theory: I believe that the wooly we see in Amanda the Adventurer 1 and the wooly we see in Amanda the Adventurer 2 are different wollys. I believe the wooly we see in the first game was Sam and that’s why wooly was helpful and kind to Amanda. Hameln saw this and decided to use the Amanda demon to kill Sam who was in the body of wooly, thus making the wooly demon who is tied to a demon that Hameln summoned. In Amanda the Adventurer 2, I believe that the wooly we see is a Hameln employee, maybe being the meat man. This would explain why wooly is a lot meaner and less caring towards Amanda. This also explains why Amanda acts so hostile to Wooly, it’s because Amanda recognizes that the woolys are different.

47:45 not sure I really agree with you on the idea that they’re injecting the person in the hospital bed with toxic substances. In your playthrough you pointed out the red bin and it’s biohazard label and theorized that it could be storing chemicals that they’re giving her, but I’m pretty certain it’s a just a trash can used for biohazardous waste. In hospitals and laboratories that work with any kind of biological substance that could affect human health, you need to follow a very specific set of instructions in order to properly dispose of things. One of the very first steps in this is making sure that storage containers for this waste are properly labeled as “biohazard” with the right symbol. In a hospital, a lot of things fall under the category of biohazardous waste (ex: blood, saliva, urine, etc), so pretty much every hospital room, but especially long term care rooms, would have a labeled biohazard trash can where nurses and doctors can easily dispose of things.

One thing I thought about was the true ending... How, Mike's theory was that the creature would trap whoever it kills in the video realm. Then isn't that perhaps why Amanda's creature is so skinny ? Because she refuses to eat/kill other people and be stuck in the same place as her making her creature go hungry in some way, meanwhile Wolly does the complete opposite making his creature stronger, also feeding into Amanda's dislike towards Wolly.

I feel like Rebecca and the entity have a closer connection than we thought, because Rebecca convinced the entity to not attack Riley. When we hear wooly's story, it's like Rebecca is letting the entity attack us.

Another comment since I typed my last one before watching: When that demonic creature is going to attack Riley and Amanda pulls what humanity she has left to beg for Riley's safety honestly gave me chills. Rebecca was adopted, meaning she likely suffered great loss at some point before Sam took her in. Shes a sad little girl that was harmed by the adults around her and lost the only parent she had. She is now losing what humanity is left due to this demon. But theres still JUST enough in there. The story telling in this game is *chefs kiss*

You know, it’s weird how at first I thought, ‘oh, here we go, another one of those kinda schlocky mascot horror things’. But it’s wild that the lore is actually presented in a very intriguing way, and the VOICE ACTING? Especially on Joanne? It’s insane how good it actually is. This game was crafted for atmosphere and story telling, and I think it’s very well done.

For those asking how to get the secret tapes. Here’s how to get them. 1. During the playing of the Let’s Practice Patience. Keep clicking the wrong tools until Amanda shows up on screen and gets angry for testing her patience 2. Divert the tracks to lead to another building during the train puzzle. 3. Rip off the bar code of a poster. Scan it and click on whatever is on the screen until it says error occurred 4. Solve the picture puzzle for a 3rd time

So.. this is a stretch... but what if the "demon" version if Amanda was actually summoned by kate to protect her? Which is why it listens when we help? And wooly is created to keep Amanda and her "demon" from escaping? Hence why its scared? It would explain why Amanda is so angry towards wooly, and scared. Its a stretch but i could see it as Kates last resort to help.

I think Wooly is a Hamelyn employee, but not exactly an evil one. He seems lower on the power structure, someone who was convinced, coerced, or tricked into being put into the tapes, and his role is to shepherd Amanda into following the scripts and try to keep her calm and under control. However, he is also a victim to the company's higher-ups, as he is now also trapped in the tapes, fears the "butcher" and is subject to Amanda's abuse. I suspect that the company's leaders have no intention of ever freeing Wooly, and he is as trapped as Amanda and the other victims now. He does seem to care about Amanda on a personal level, beyond his role of keeping Amanda on track, but Amanda, reasonably so, no longer trusts him as she has realized he is an employee, so he's stuck in an unfortunate position. The demon that attached to Wooly seems to be a bit stronger than Amanda's demon (as shown by the scene where Amanda's demon shreds the Wooly doll), but Wooly himself fears Amanda's powers in-tape, so she's obviously more powerful in that realm.

Wooly is Sam If you play the beta the one in the woods was Wooly, and when you play the second game you literally find Sam's clothes buried.... The same clothes he was wearing during that coffee interview😮 Notice how freaked out Amanda gets when she sees the clothes and it's actually really that reburied it. He says: do you know what's fun bearing things seems to imply that he is burying his past😮 Sam signed the contract so he is actually the property of Hamelin, something that they literally emphasized😮 I'm also certain that at some point, he tried to break free when they was giving the special code😮 he probably died in the escape which is why he doesn't feel anything Also remember, Amanda says herself that he was someone that she trusted. That also explains the fact that he's always by her side no matter how many times she kills him 🤔

If we entertain the idea that being killed by one of the entities claims your soul and traps it in the tapes... the opossum knows Joanne. It constantly tries to interfere with Amanda when she's following the script of the episode, but never when she goes off-script or breaks character. It's also not *part* of the script. Almost like Hameln didn't intend for it to be there. Most importantly... it's new. Not just to us, but to Amanda and Wooly as well. "A stranger." It was added to the tapes recently. The opossum isn't the younger brother. It's Kate.

It seems like Amanda’s demon is more like a defense mechanism, the demon attacks when Amanda is sad angry or afraid but, it also seems like the demon isn’t fully under her control, when Amanda stops the demon from attacking us for the second time the demon slams his fist on the ground. On top of that we the tap was destroyed the demon attacked.

So, here are my theories and corrections; 1.The 'Hidden Area': I suspect this is the room seen on the Investigator Meeting tapes. I doubt it was purposely built, more repurposed, most likely from the Library's old Fallout Shelter. 2. Sam DIDN'T complete the tape;: As you saw, eventually, the Hameln Rep/Cultist dealing with him got fed up and said "You've given us enough to go on.." meaning any tape Rebecca saw would have been a mash of raw footage that sounds like Sam says "You can trust our friends to look after you whilst I'm away". 3. Peter is either a mole or reluctant to take on the cult: Peter is odd sort, he knows about demonic entities and occult rituals then seems very against a confrontation when it's suggested. This is because Hameln knew of the group's activities and made Peter a plant so they could find out just what these junior sleuths know that the Authorities clearly don't. Either that or he defected from the company/cult and is terrified of of going up against them because he knows, if not killed by the Cult and the Demons, the corporate façade will make it virtually impossible for them to get their side of the story out clearly, with Hameln's Legal Team claiming the group is "Nothing but a bunch of highly strung Adults who'll eventually get bored of slandering the company and move onto something else they deem 'inappropriate'...." It could very be that Peter knows Hameln know highly influential people, possibly even the US President, and wouldn't be afraid to even try and pin false charges on the group like Assault on Company Executives and Criminal Damage to properties owned by Hameln. 4. Distortion: It could be that you become trapped in the tapes if you die in the Human world, although it's possible the radio just accidentally turned on.

This kind of makes me wonder just how much Sam might have known because if you notice when they said "would you like me to bring out your contract?" he didn't say "I didn't agree to be separated from her" or "I didn't agree to have Hamlin do all of this" all he said was that he didn't agree to lie to Rebecca. Just seemed weird to me. I also always wondered about her voice since we have seen the child voice actor, meaning Rebecca when she was a child, it makes sense now that it might be her adult voice since it's been 15 years since.
