I have 2 theories. My first one is that the possum that shows up in every episode is Joanne’s brother that went missing. That’s why the possum goes toward the camera while Joanne is speaking. And the “Jo” he was saying was him trying to get her attention. My other theory that other people is saying is that the monster at the end was acctually not the monster we are used to, like the Amanda one, it’s a wooly one. If you pause just at the right time you can see it’s not the creature we know. I hope think noodles sees this!

Wooly is the main villain of this game, want me to elaborate? Read the whole comment. So, in the 1st game, he was just the voice of reason and we know for a fact that Amanda isn’t the main villain since she opens up to us in this game and the last one multiple times, Wooly just doesn’t do a lot in this game other than get Amanda mad, almost as if he tries to get her to kill us. When he shows up again, Amanda gets pissed but when he isn’t there, notice that she isn’t hostile to us in the 1st 2 tapes. The reason why in the neutral ending where Amanda doesn’t kill but pins Joanne down, she didn’t know who she was but when Riley plays the voice recording of Kate and Joanne opens up, she wasn’t the one who got her, it was the other entity, so, the 1st entity and Amanda aren’t the villains of this series, it’s Wooly, also, if you’ve noticed, Wooly gets more and more pissed off in this game when Amanda and Riley don’t go by his rules, when he first shows up in this game, he gets attacked and acts very suspicious, he says he’s her “best friend” and tries to calm her down to make her play by his rules again, in the final tape, when Amanda says who do you trust, put his name in there and she says, “I used to trust him” almost like she knows who he actually is and when she speaks in general about trusting people in the past, she looks directly at Wooly. Also, Wooly gets the entity more and more mad in the story tape when we play by his rules and when it 1st shows up, his eyes turn black like he was going to show us who he actually is, when we play by Amanda’s rules though, it leaves and when we give the entity the Wooly plush in the treasure tape, we get an achievement called anger magnet (I think?) or anger management (idk what it’s called) but it’s because it tore it up so it was satisfied so Wooly is hiding something, he did something to her and he tries to manipulate us to take his path. Even before this, he tries to be the role model of the show when Amanda is just acting like a kid, almost like he tries to butter us up to take his side, when Amanda takes care of him, she opened up to us, when he’s there, he makes her mad. The reason why Wooly take’s care of Joanne at the end is because Amanda wouldn’t do it herself so he had to kill her to stop her from destroying the tapes (which is weird when in the demos, he was encouraging us to destroy the tapes) or to leave no witnesses or to tie loose ends so the whole problem would be forgotten about. Now unless Kate’s still alive and Sam is still alive, Riley’s the only one left since Joanne and presumably the rest have been killed by either Hamlen, The entity, or Wooly, maybe since we go down the secret hatch at the end, we go down to Hamlen itself to put an end to all of this and Wooly will be our last obstacle to get past to save Rebecca and Sam and the other missing children like Lauren. But hey, that’s just a theory, a GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading edit Realize in this game, when the entity kills you, Amanda remembers you in the new game, idk if it means anything but what if when Amanda kills you, she just forces you to repeat the tapes, might be why when Kate wrote the letter she said once you watch it, there’s no going back because it will just keep killing you over and over again to make you restart. I don’t fully agree with this new theory but it could be true.
