I promise you Amanda the Hunger Games did not go downhill. Ordinary civilians just weren’t truly ready for the deeper plot of overthrowing a tyrannical regime. The last two movies are essentially the progression of a civil war and Katniss being forced into being a political idol rather than a child fighting in the arena. You will absolutely cackled at Katniss trying to acting in a propo. The way they handle ptsd, being forced to grow up, relationships😫it’s so amazing and never got the flowers it truly deserved.

Music (in no particular order) Beyoncé (I CRIED TO DAUGHTER) Megan Thee Stallion (played tf out of Megan: ACT I&II, Paper Together and Miami Blue especially the last couple months) Flo Milli (played tf out her album, NEW ME IS THAT GIRL) Latto (I had a new fave each day, but it has to be Look What You Did) Kendrick Lamar (next to Meg, this really was his year--I was so obsessed with GNX and played it all night) ATEEZ (K-Pop group, saw them with a pal and am still obsessed) Books: The Sign of Affection series (manga, SO CUTE PLZ READ IT IF YOU LOVE SOFT ROMANCE STORIES) Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi (need the whole series now) Loud by Drew Afualo (it's been a tough year for me lowkey, but she honestly helped me through some of it; reminding me that I'm capable of anything, never be anything less than myself, and that it's okay to be picky when it comes to romance--especially with men. I'm pan, so I might take my roommate's rather adamant recommendation to date a woman😭 I can't pull, but I can try shdhdhd) Rouge by Mona Awad (beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL story and message about the obsession with skincare and beauty and also a good look on how not only our surroundings can affect how we perceive ourselves--especially as BIPOC women--but daughter and mother relationships as well. The ending sent me for a loop. Especially with people, young and old, growing increasingly concerned about looks these days, it's an important read) Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis (Jesus fucking Christ is all I can say, please read it) Gorgeous, Gruesome Faces by Linda Cheng (HOLY SHIT is all I can say, please read--the ending gagged me) I'm so happy I got back into my reading bag🥺
