I used to be really interested in art in high school but my Asian parents (tbh only my mom) refused to let me sign up for classes and eventually I gave up because of the combination of my mom and my hatred of being compared lol Now I have a stable job as a pharm tech and sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I continued in art. The irony is my mom realized art could be a side hustle and tried to convince me to turn it into a commodity when I haven't been doing it for years because she ripped up my drawings when I was younger. I draw occasionally now but it's only when I have a specific idea i.e. it must have a purpose. It was only when I discovered Amamda's KZbin channel that I realized I could draw more for fun and it didn't have to be serious. I wouldn't even consider my journal a "bullet journal" - it's just a theme every month that accumulates my favorite songs, moods, and moments in each month. The journey continues! I'm really grateful. Thanks, Amanda! ❤

i kinda wanna say that artist who does effective work even in minimal execution time can still be a WONDERFUL artist. i don't think its that lazy to try and move people in even minimal effort works, because art is about touching people. so a good powerful word on a wall can be a greater masterpiece than a higly detailed picture of an orange. because it has a meaning.

I was the best of my class in art school, but it became too stressful and I eventually stopped drawing. Even when I didn't follow any of the teacher's instructions they'd still be like (to other students) "that's what you're supposed to do" so I became pretty stubborn about my personal style. When you're not considered talented you have more opportunity to practice and improve.

Amanda and Sam are like me and my friend.We have very different art styles and she always has a very quick art assignment and she has a “Well if you look at it this way..”And I like drawing characters and spend more time and I don’t like explaining things so I try to make it easy to see the point of my work.She’s my best friend, my life wouldn’t be the same with her.Thanks friend!
