Nothing wrong with adopting what we call a mid-Atlantic accent if it is not forced and comes naturally to you . I noticed you dropped your Ts ( glottal stops) a few times and have heard you slip in a few Anglicisms here and there. Quite endearing, actually. Also, if you live in this country and pay taxes you are perfectly entitled to complain about poor service whether it be re the NHS or anything else

Another key one is don't refer to our homes as 'quaint' and generally treat locals as if they're theme park attendants - we live here and not for the pleasure of visitors. (Grew up in a Cotswold village - very much see all the negative US tourist stereotypes in full swing all year round, ended up practicing French to pretend to not be local and deter engagement.)

"Y'all right?" as a greeting is no less odd, when you think about it, than "How are you?" (or the "How's it going?" you hear a lot here in New Zealand). Pretty much the same question, and only requiring "Good, and you?" as a response. Another thing which can be annoying is thinking something is wrong because it's not done the same way as where you're from. It's not wrong, just different. Embrace the difference.

the one thing or two things really that slightly irk me (annoy for the yanks) is when someone says British accent or calls me British, a lot of the yank and canuck gamers i play with do it on purpose to torment me as im fond of tormenting them quite often (bonding), a phrase i like to use often is "im not British im English, the other 3 are British" referring to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, b4 anyone points out that i am British as well as being English its done as a joke, a lot of the differences between England and America are flipsides of each other imo, we are all products of our environment and upbringing and it shapes a lot of the way we view things and can sometimes be hard to look past
