My memories back to the year of 1990 when since 1989 I resigned from Cigna Ins. Co (at that time located at Landmark bldg 9th floor jln jend sudirman -centre of Jakarta) and moved to the WTC Office Complex at WMI bldg 8th floor due to been "hired" by the British JV Co. I was appointed to be involved in all insurance matters relating to various Worlwide big group of 5/five -stars Hotels/Resorts in Indonesia such as : HII-group/ Hyatt Group/ Hilton Group/ Sheraton/ AMAN group/Century/Bali Dynasty/ Sahid/ etc etc..( too long to be described one by one). And the first "risk-survey" to be carried out on my first visit on 1990 was "AMANDARI" Ubud ( under AMAN Group) beside Bali Beach Intl Hotel at Sanur-Bali & Bali Cottages Sanur-Bali ( under HII group). Got privilege to stay there too. Thx to ALLAH SWA for all blesses given on me🙏🙏🙏

I was in Ubud 2 years ago and BALI WINS HANDSDOWN in the amazing swimming pools department. everywhere you go, a resort, a budget hotel, a spa...they all have incredibly beautiful swimming pools, not like our american cement triangle boring ugly pools. and a big plus is that you can just walk into a place and if it's hot and humid and you are tired you can just get in the pool, no one stops you or asks if you are a guest, it's just assumed that you are welcome. watch the monkeys in the Monkey forest though, they are hooligans.

Before you posted these videos, I had no idea that Bali had so much rain forest area. Maintaining these rain forest resorts must take a lot of work! We have had no rain in SF Bay Area since last March! Gonna be another dry winter, I fear. That rain forest humidity would be most welcome to me. I like the ancient feeling of Amandari.

I found a book on Bali resort Architecture back in 2000, Amandari gets it;s name from a event in the 1500 century when a hindu sage came to Ubud following a ball of light, i witnessed this ball of light while rafting near Amandari resort.

And Amanpulo is criminally overpriced for what you are getting. Might as well go to Bali and get more bang for you buck.
@christianwiryo84542 жыл бұрын
IMHO, by architectural point of view, this ain't one of the best or stunning among other Aman properties. Amanzoe probably the best one. BUT, if we talk about the rooms, Amandari has always been on the first place for me, eversince. Its' elegant warmth & intangible comfort of design can't be described, as I didn't get these in other Aman as much as in Amandari.
@ardikaputu2 жыл бұрын
"by architectural point of view" Are you sure? Or it was just your personal examination? One is in vernacular Balinese architecture, while the other one is in traditional Greek architecture. From "architectural point of view" they are different yet beauty on their own. Different climate, different history, different perspective, different material, different culture, different aesthetic experience. Both are not on the same league. And for the Amanzoe, her colonnade looks ...., i don't know, just a bit bland, maybe it supposed to be doric or they just make it as plain as possible to resemble the essence of Greek column, i don't know.
@christianwiryo84542 жыл бұрын
@@ardikaputu Ah yes, I mean architectural point of view of mine.. It's actually a very nice Balinese architecture; but nowadays, where the modern architecture could blend better with the traditional ones, which would make a more stunning effect, this makes Amandari becoming much fading (again it's my personal opinion).. Yes sure, it's not the same league between Amandari and Amanzoe, as they have totally different approach of design's beauty.. Maybe this is more to a personal opinion, as each of Aman visitors has their own favorite Aman's architecture.. As for myself, I prefer more to the design of Amankila, Amanjiwo, & Amanzoe (Ed Tuttle's).. however, for the room concept, Amandari is the most preferrable for me (as per Amans that I've visited)..
