As a first generation Indian Australian I loved the book. A must read for immigrants to the western world from the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia and Africa.

I wish the author was stopped and asked - How can an author so matter-of-factly think one is “writing about a generation of migrants and their kids”-this seems in danger of affirming one dominant story at the expense of others that could not stand-in for “the generation”... 100% agree on the takedown of econ rationalism and Packers analogy. Maybe I’ve misinterpreted and he doesn’t mean what I think - but certain voices repping an entire generation or class seems to be itself such a double edged idea - you buy into it and you create it - which you see in how pervasive he sees the people in USA worshipping money - who exactly is the moloch worshipping “we” - everyone? Everyone who is anyone?
