I'm glad they found a way to legally release a tube... Finally
@elieh.studio2 жыл бұрын
Didn’t know there was a legal issue?
@KevKlopper2 жыл бұрын
@@elieh.studio my guess is that when they licensed out the sidus link to the other tube manufacturer they entered a non compete contract. Now with the "new company / brand" they are not bound to it anymore.
@ianthebrightman2 жыл бұрын
Nope, had nothing to do with legality... for the longest time we were looking into having Quasar integrated with Sidus which would have completed the ecosystem, but when Vitek bought them they became a competitor, so that opened the door for us!

Nice review Tommy! I find the battery grip needing an external cable a bit odd, but it is what it is. Ill look out for your F22c/x review. Im really interested in those for my travel shoots!
@ianthebrightman2 жыл бұрын
This way, with battery degradation, you can just get another without having to replace the whole fixture ;)
@BartJohnsonProd2 жыл бұрын
@@ianthebrightman That is definitely a plus! I just prefer no cable. If there was a connector inside the base of the tube that would've been cool. But you know I'm picky!

When you do the f22c review, can you compare them to a 300d ii with a softbox. It'd be really useful to see how they stack up to a COB Led thats got a modifier since I'd most likely be using one of these in place of it.

Great video. Do you happen to own the new PT4C tube light? The specs say they are only half as bright as the T4C lights, it would be great to have a real world confirmation.
@antpruitt2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video, sir. Was curious
@billyoung95382 жыл бұрын
This video is very confusing, because it is trying to emphasize these are Amaran lights and not Aputure lights except that Amaran is a product line from Aputure. Sidus Link is Apurture specific light network, and these are even on the Apurture website. The key difference between Amaran line and the other Aputure product lines, like Light Storm and Nova, is that Amaran is being marketed towards the budget side.
@TommyCallaway2 жыл бұрын
They're very strongly trying to separate Amaran from Aputure in terms of branding, I totally agree with you that it's definitely a little confusing.
@billyoung95382 жыл бұрын
@@TommyCallaway I guess the idea is that one is high end and the other is low end, so if something goes wrong with a low end product it won't reflect badly on their current higher end reputation. The only issue with that would be keeping the two together on their main website. I think they need to literally turn Aputure into a product line with sub products and Amaran into a separate product line with sub products if they are going to have any success trying to separate the two while maintaining both on a single site.
@sharifsalem2 жыл бұрын
@@TommyCallaway not confusing at all. It’s just one of Aputure’s product lines and Amaran products carry both names.

Thanks Roland. I bet you could probably get some custom ones from honey crates or DoP choice … but I think someone should go hard and design one for use with the nato rails on the back that clamp on or attach securely..we will see I guess!

Many thanks for the review Tommy. I have to say that these tubes leave me a bit confused. When they were properly announced a few months back, they did so under the Amaran brand and whilst i haven't gotten to play with one yet, everyone seems to pretty much like them. However if i was a betting man (which i'm not), i'd £1M (or $'s!!!) that Aputure bring out their own RGBWW tube light that really goes head to head with the heft of the Astera brands of tubes. It seems strange to me that Amaran haven't gone with the 8-16 Pixel quantity that even the new $99 Nanlite T8-R7 tube has. Again, i'm sure these are really good lights however i believe the best is yet to come.......and it'll have Aputure splashed all over it!! Have a good weekend 👍🏻👍🏻
