My God, this band is the perfect blend of three different genres: metal, rock, and alternative. Everyone in this band is on point. I just found new and much needed music to work out to. The drums and guitar get the heart pumping, the metal voice gets you moving, the female voice gets you cruising, and the eye of the tiger voice makes you want to push just a little harder till the end of the set. I love it.

For me personally I find the trio of vocal styles to be a unique and we'll balanced blend. The pure female vocals to lift and soar while the clean powerful male vocals keep the music grounded and centered, the screams of the second male vocalist add visceral impact, its raw, primal...bloody brilliant imo.

Just found this band today. Yeah, it's amusing that Wiki lists them as death metal. I don't really see anything close to death besides the growls. But seriously, who cares about trying to classify bands into genres? There're only 3 classifications as far as I'm concerned: You like them. You don't mind them. You dislike them. I like what I'm hearing from Amaranthe so far. It's refreshing.

Nexus was my introduction to Amaranthe and boy, what a ride it is! From start to finish it gives you vocals that are crystal clear, even the growl feels so on point, and the melodic composition is just eargasm; a perfect mix of anthemic progression and kickass heavy riffs. This song just hits you in the balls, lifts you up over the shit and takes you somewhere special. One of the true great ones. Oh and I even like the story, for what little you can make out of it; is the future ready to handle the metal of the past? ^^

I can't believe this album is turning 10 years old this year. The band has been through quite a few changes since then. I like Nils and GG6 (though he left recently) and I think of Helix as The Nexus Part 2. But sometimes I wonder how different the band would be if Jake E and Andy were still around. Jake and Elize harmonized so well together and Andy is a super talented harsh vocalist. This album was well blended with contrast while also having a consistent sound that you can quickly identify the track is from The Nexus. They really knew their craft back then.

1:06 - No one using an autoload shotgun would put the shells on their right arm... because that matter... For all the haters, I love this so, so there!
@Wallriss10 жыл бұрын
Individuals will configure their rig as the wish and ultimately as they are trained. It is, after all, their lives that depend on it. As to the song. Too theatrical for my current tastes. Brainstorm and early Into Eternity are bands that come to mind when I want to experience this sound.
@Elody200610 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly not trying to be a dick, but simply conversing.. but is there a reason why you feel that having it on the right arm is incorrect? While it is not the most ideal setup.. If you're doing a tactical reload would you not be holding the weapon with your right arm (assuming you're right handed) while using your left to reload? You wouldn't want them on the left arm?
@Wallriss10 жыл бұрын
I would have to agree with you as I have been trained to reload with the support hand while always maintaining support of the weapon with the strong arm. I know for a fact that their are people who do it the other way around and brace the weapon against there shoulder with their support hand and perform a strong arm reload. It's all preference. The point I was ultimately trying to make is that everyone considers their gear for what works for them. Yea I understand that it's a cheesy music video and these guys probably just started strapping gear on to make themselves look cool. I just can't stand when people tell other people how to configure their gear, that's all.

I'm a great fan of Amaranthe (and yes I do listen to "True metal" like Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth, Dio, Sabaton, Dragonforce, and stuff, but apparently you seem to be stuck to your old genres). You're a hater, so you can go fuck yourself. Music is changing, get used to it.

I'll have you know, it is not "death metal" it is "Metalcore" or a "Power metal/pop" band/group (for reference "metalcore" means hardcore metal, however "Power metal" is a sub-genre of heavy metal, but it includes synthesizer with the qualities of classic metal and speed/faster paced metals). Sorry for that

Diego Dellavegas why not?
@johngreene861910 жыл бұрын
It does have elements of Power and Symphonic metal, with touches of metalcore. However, Mr. Dellavegas is correct, it would not be considered metal by most people. The style is very, very close to Skillet, which is classified as Christian Rock. As this does not overtly have a Christian message (I don't know enough about the band, and anyone can interpret what they want out of lyrics), it would simply be Rock. I personally would call this hard rock with metal infusion. Regardless, it's GOOD music.

this band has such a great pop element that should be getting more commercial attention. I dunno, it's just it would be nice for rock to have some presence again in mainstream areas that aren't already dedicated to rock. Like one day finally see a metal band at the Superbowl or New Years event, not just DJs, club music n such.
@residentevildeadspace57294 жыл бұрын
NoxZero you are wrong, this metal band do not have pop elements at all, this metal band is a pure metal
@residentevildeadspace57294 жыл бұрын
NoxZero idiot, pop and hard rock cannot be combined at all, pop and metal cannot be combined at all because pop is not aggressive hardcore music like hard rock and metal, pop is gay music but hard rock and metal are aggressive hardcore music. Rap and metal can be combined very well, rap and metal is a great combination because rap and metal both genres are aggressive hardcore music

I love how Amaranthe make the soft female vocals flow. Often women's voices are too soft for a heavy band or they have to growl like Angela Gossow, making it lose the feminine touch (Besides obviously being fucking impressive). The part that I believe is done by keyboard bring this altogether perfectly

Ireallydontwanttousemyname Listen, I listen to tons of genres like jazz, rock, metal, pop, soul, r'n'b, swing soul and know the difference between a good song and bad song. It's you people, who label them self to something like, emo, goth, punk, metalhead, swagger etc. that are narrowminded. Just because I listen to all kinds of genres makes me capable of saying if something is good or not. When it comes to Metal, I listen mostly to stuff like symphonic metal, proggresive metal and power metal (with a lot of varies in between) Nevertheless, just because I listen to other genres doesn't mean that I think they suck, it's just that I don't like it. When this band comes to, it is one of the few ones in metal I can listen to (besides Delain, Nightwish, Epica, Xandria, Within Temptation, Sirenia, Leaves' Eyes, ReVamp, Kamelot, Krypteria, Nemesea and Tarja co conclude the list). When it comes to fusing genres, that's where I become most interested, like this band and alas that's where all metalheads rage because they live in the lie that ONLY metal is good and that everything that isn't 100% metal is shit. And why shouldn't they think of their valets? Money is needed to create a song or an album, it would be really hypocritical of them to say otherwise. And just for the record, Grammy Awards are good awards, they aren't like MTV Music Awards that they give to every asshole that becomes famous. And I won't even comment on the last part because you truly are and ignorant bitch who just hates everything not associated to your bubble of interest. :P Go on sir/lady and live your puny little life or whatever you're doing ;) Rock on, maybe when you grow up you will understand some things. ;)
