This reminds me my childhood when i was 7 years old. This episode was filmed in 1994-1995 24 years ago. I used to take bus number 9 or 12 from Railway station to SVN colony guntur. These are called citi bus and they still operate today in same condition. There are other bus as well like number 6. Bus number 9 runs through the stretch of amaravathi road. Thanks for paying attention to detail shyam benegal ji. You are legend.

@@harishkarmwani8641 I am from guntur too. These private citi bus run from RTC bustand all the way to amaravathi.. also svn colony guntur. Guntur is city close to Amaravathi. This town show in this serial is Amaravathi. Actress vijaylakshmi muralidhar show in this serial she is writer and well known.. she is active on facebook. I used to take this buses regularly until school days.. now it is all autos.. Guntur used to be green guntur.. after new government guntur is spoiled by looters and rowdi sheeters from kadapa :(

I'm from Andhra who read the book many times for my favorite stories, but hatsoff to this Hindi Writer and Shyam Benegal ji to mix up Telugu words and keeping the original flavor giving a sense of localization. Brilliance of Shyam Benegal is that he mixed up Bus story with the boy being born which is another story

there was hardly any representation of south India in doordarshan those days, everything had to be in Hindi like - this one"Amaravathi ki Kahaniyaan" , Malgudi Days and Tenali raman. However it gave lot of us South Indians settled in northern parts something to remember our culture and traditions. I as a kid enjoyed these serials and felt highly connected.

Amaravathi is the capital of Andhrapradesh... 21:30 Back in old days it's the place for diamonds mining and famous for world class diamonds. Even today you can see these same old model bus services in gunturu area . Telugu Language written on the bus. Actually fish seller is a malayali and she settled in andhra pradesh. Married to a Telugu person. She is most popular telugu television host named suma kanakala.

@Ranjit Tyagi Now total Andhra Pradesh politics are revolving around Amaravathi town which was declared as state capital by previous govt and some constructions like assembly , high court,etc have completed but the newly elected govt is not happy with previous policy and wants to construct 3 capital's for AP and neglecting Amaravathi and not accepting it as capital of the state. Farmers have given valuable good yield lands to previous govt now these lands are turn use less due to constructions in those lands. So don't worry Amaravathi is going to be like as in old days development has stopped in that area . Nothing is going to change in the area in the near or future as per my knowledge.
