Amardeep Singh has committed a better part of his life to trace the Legacy of Guru Nanak in South East Asia - a gigantic task. Here he gives an introduction to Nanak Panthi communities. HE talks about previously Hindu followers of Nanak are now known to be Nanak Panthi as well as simply Sikhs of Nanak. He also describes followers of Nanak from the Turk background as the Muslims are and they were known to be: mureed” of Nanak. He illustrates how Nanak Panthis and the mureeds of Nanak were attracted to Guru. He has published two books, entitled, 'Lost Heritage: The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan' and 'The Quest Continues: Lost Heritage The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan'. He is making several documentaries detailing the remnants of the Sikh spiritual and martial legacy in Pakistan and other Middle Eastern countries. He is on his way to Nepal and other Himalayan countries to trace the footsteps of Guru Nanak. We are so thankful and appreciative of his work and look forward to his future documentaries, talks, and so well-illustrated books.

Thanks Harbans Lal Ji. By the way, the filming of the multi-episode documentary, 'ALLEGORY, A Tapestry of Guru Nanak's Travels' is totally completed across 9 countries (including the Himalayan regions of Tibet, etc). We are presently cleaning up the narrative and recording verses, which will enable us to start the post production from Aug 2020 for a one year period to stitch the 30+ episodes.

Where will we be able to see the 30 part documentary ? Thank you in advance. And with respect to the mention of Dayanand, early history of Arya Samaj would show that in fact, as the divide between the two communities was really very vague, there were many Sikhs within Arya Samaj, including elder family members of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

really good to see sikhs and sikh panth outside SGPC singh sabha model. Also just wanted to comment on pronunciation ਛਿਅ ਘਰ ਛਿਅ ਗੁਰ ਛਿਅ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥ I sometimes listen to santhiya of Keertan Sohila, and the pronunciation of ਛਿਅ is not the same as the regular pronunciation of 6 in Punjabi. Just wanted to bring this up as it forms a big part of the video, and this pronunciation is greatly highlighted in santhiya due to a lot of us mispronouncing ਛਿਅ, including myself! Also just need some help, is there any shorter video just for the Monism explanation? I see too many mistranslations of Ek Onkaar to God Is One or there is One God, would be nice to have a video to explain to sikhs and other people! =)

The shortest explanation of Monism is 'Oneness' of all aspects of matter, mind and creation. The 'IK' with which the Guru Granth Sahib starts, indicates this Oneness of everything and not the myopic definition the British gave us in English, that it translates to Monotheism, that God is One. 'SOHUM AAP PEHCHANIYE' and 'TOHI MOHI MOHI TOHI ANTAR KAISA' are just a few verses that further reinforce the concept of Monism.

yeh because it was a Zoom meeting. A lot of content on TV and the internet this year will be recorded using software like Zoom, so we will have to cope with poor audio for 2020 and maybe even 2021 during Coronavirus pandemic...

Nanakpanthis dispora in the west is just to read the Guru Granth Sahib online, you do not need any priest to guide you. Do your research yourself, & find the path.

What Orthodox sikh friends won't like, is that Nanakpanthis are not as separated from Hindus as Sikhs today are.

because they were hindus... Guru Nanak didnt seek to convert.. other than to better, egalitarian spiritual progressive individuals.. that could be within the hindu faith or muslim or other faith and they criticised the empty practices adopted by such followers too. If you go onto study the sikh history of the following manifestations of Guru Nanak thereafter.. as we believe 1 Jot in 10, then 11th Guru Granth Sahib... the political history of the Gurus, naturally separates out the Sikh identity, path, teaching as unique from others. Still whilst retaining that teaching of Oneness and universality of all life.. thats why Sikhi is quite special.. other Faiths too have similar basic ideals.. too, being forgotten with time or distorted. What is an 'orthodox Sikh'?? Sikh means learner..

@@manjin1957 What are Current Sikhs ?? In 1920s A huge fight happened ( Singh Sabha Movement)to Control the Gurudwaras of India( including Pakistan) between TAT KHALSA SIKHS and UDASI SIKHS ( who were actually running the Gurudwaras) . In this fight TAT KHALSA won . After that TAT KHALSA SIKHS made many changes to separate Sikhism from Hinduism. SGPC was made in 1925 . GURUDWARA ACT 1925 was made and passed. Udasis, Nirmalas, Namdharis and many other types of Sikhs were EXCOMMUNICATED from Sikhism. New Sikhs' name were made and promoted ( started with PRABH, GUR, HAR and ending with DEEP, JEET, LEEN etc.) Before this Sikhs used to have similar names like Hindus ending with Singhs( Ram singh, Sham singh etc.). ANAND MARRIAGE ACT was made. Khalsa Missionary Schools and Colleges were open (GHPS, GURU NANAK PUBLIC SCHOOL, KHALSA COLLEGE etc.) to separate Sikhs from Hindus. THAT IS TODAYS SIKHI AND SIKHS WHICH STARTED IN 1920S.

The description of Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj and Sikhi at around 4:00 is not quite true, some may even say disrespectful. We must remember Guru Nanak Devi Ji was bringing the revelation straight from Vaheguru in a pure, un-altered form, and not simply a philosophy he made up.
