Louis Fenech returns to the UKPHA Bookclub to present another captivating talk which will focus on Guru Gobind Singh’s Darbar (Divine Court). From a comparatively simple following which gathered around Guru Nanak to the celebrated Darbar of Guru Gobind Singh, Lou Fenech will illustrate the development of the Darbar. By focusing on the documentary evidence, such as the Zafar-Namah ('Epistle of Victory’), his talk will reconstruct the evolving nature of the Sikh Guru’s Darbar.

I feel this professor is good for teaching the west the basics of sikhi. As for standard sikhs he doesnt really bring any insight to the table but I believe as he is a westerner sikhs just get blown away by his (limited) knowledge simply for the fact that he is western

He reflects the state of bliss, the state of fascination he got from Sikhi, it can been seen! Ps: you lost me when you said Guru tegh Bahadur ji was a Social Justice Warrior, wtf!.

I can't say I approve of his terminology Islamicate, I've never come across such a term, it seems made-up to avoid using the term Islamic, as if it implies something negative. It's a sad choice to invent a new term because you are afraid to use a perfectly acceptable term that already exists. He has not introduced a new term to describe Hindu associations. You, sir, have lowered your standing. If I have misunderstood, I'm apologise and I'm happy to be corrected.

Islamicate means something that occurred in the islamic world that was not islamic. For ex. Homosexuality

@@jassimarsingh6505 Hodgson introduced the term Islamicate to refer to characteristics of regions where Muslims, while culturally dominant, were not, properly speaking, "religious": "'Islamicate' would refer not directly to the religion, Islam, itself, but to the social complex historically associated with Islam and the Muslims,

@@jassimarsingh6505 I have learnt the meaning since I wrote the comment, your interpretation is incorrect, I have posted the correct meaning. It seems mildly acceptable, but he seemed to use it far too often, it's been a year so I don't really remember the contents of the discussion.
