@@AmariLeone I'm ot7. I don't mind those videos because I'm aware of the Jimin effect. Also like they said, there is no comparison. I haven't seen the video of when you said what said. Some Armys are overly sensitive about those things and don't think they should have attacked you for that. I understand it. I mean there are some parts in songs where it's like "No one could have slayed this part better than . . ." If it is simply not their style and where their voice is most suitable. It might have just been the way you said it but I don't know. I'm only one person so I can't really speak for others.

Jk & tae are very popular with girls, especially young girls. But jimin seems to appeal to both genders across all age demographics, from babies to grandmas. Even pets... a survey showed that jimin has more male fans than most top female idols. So it isn't surprising he kept winning most popular idol awards.

The guy in the beginning calls him JM because in a lot of media, when you read the subtitle on videos and interviews and such, they use a sort of acronym for each person (ex. JM for Jimin, JK for Jungkook, JH for JHope and so on). If you've ever watched the dude calling him JM, I believe he explained it in one of his videos before. Hope that helped!

See JiMin : JM. Koreans have two first names. NamJoon, SeokJin, YoonGi, HoSeok, JiMin, TaeHyung, JeonGguk (his real real-real name). First part ofthe name of so called generational name it used to be that all the children of the family had their first (part) of the name same - you still can see the effects of this on more old fashioned or traditional families. Jin's (Kim SeokJin) brothers name is Kim Seok-joong (Other way to write these names. There is lots of ways. This is the first talk let's keep it basic, read of Korean names more if you want, it's a huge interesting subject 💜) Suga's brother used to be known as Min Junki (JunKi) (but he might have been changed his name, But he was known with that name.) Any-way ! (obviosly There are not much gender issues with Korean names - like JiMin is more used as a girl name - Again different lettering and wirds written with different _korean letters_ but still both pronounced similarily changed the meaning.. (Sorry language nerds, I know, I know I'm taking a drastic shortcuts here! But that is quick way to explain it, not loosing us into the other awesome topic! JungKook (artist name) Jung Hoseok (Both these Jungs are written the same way - I have checked it.) And back to the gender thing you see lots of Koreans having same names that you know are maybe known to you already to some persom of the other gender.. Obviously gender is not a big thing with Korean names ! Like last names in English ? Why do some of our languages have "genders in our first names but not last names? Ehem. Anyway lets go on we still have this first name issue to go on, let's not talk about last names here. (Korean first name is a compound name and it is not.. Actually Koreans see their whole names as one word Example one, situation one : Suga : "MinSuga Genius - those two words should be enough" My brain : "But that's three words ??? No, my darling foreign brain, no." you can quote me on this : "Thinking in 'languages' is like thinking in 'portals' - it is *different*!) Second part of the name is the person personal name their "own" "real" first name (again olden times!) But that's why you sometimes see Army and BTS themselves refer to each other often by their last part of their first names.. - AaaND time for Exeptions! (Also there is i saying in my country that "Loved child has a many names." - as in petnames so I'm listing only some of these. and i'm trying to concentrate on how boys call each other.) RM NamJoon sometimes rarely "Joon" (Jimin calls him quite rarely "Moni/Monnie", but that must be because MiniMoni), Jin as WWH and sometimes very rarely "Jinnie", Suga is called "Yoon" by fans but BTS don't do it atleast when the cameras are on. However, even though I am Korean, I may be not right, so please let me know if that is the case! First, there are definitely gendered names in Korea, and let's say for example, in the school skit episode (during Run BTS), Yoongi is called Yoonji- as that's kind of the "female" version of Yoongi, if that makes sense. It's parallel to Daniel/Danielle, Christopher/Christine, Joseph/Josephine. Although there are those like Jimin, which is a primarily female name, you can kind of think of it as a Western male named Audrey or something similar. Next, Jimin is written the exact same way for both girls and boys in Korean. It's different in English though, one of my female friends is named Gemin (same pronunciation and Korean spelling as Jimin). The idea that Korean have two first names is a kind of inaccurate, it's just two syllables, just like how the name Emma is two syllables. I know that you definitely know, but for other people reading who might not know: Korean names have a 1 syllable last name and a 2 syllable first name. Kim Seokjin. 김석진. Jung Hoseok. 정호석. Min Yoongi. 민윤기. The last name comes first. The idea of a "real first name" isn't really a thing. Families might call their children something like "Jimin" and "Jihyun" the same way one might call their kids "Madison" and "Morgan." I think you talk about it in the middle of your comment, but I just wanted to clear that up. The petnames is just an endearing thing that BTS created from part of their name. That's why you hear cute names Tae Tae and Hobi (this comes from Hope from J-Hope, but in Korean this is written as 홉 and the P becomes more of a B, and so with the suffix it's Hobi), but not Yoon-ah or Gi-ah because it just doesn't sound nice. For example, the second syllable of my name is 비 or "bee"/"bi," the same way you would pronounce the second half of Hobi. But no one would call me "Bi-ah" for any reason really, they're much more likely to call me by some cute nickname or something similar. Kind of like calling someone whose name is Alexander, Alex instead. Or maybe Clarissa becomes Clary, or Isabelle becomes Izzy. For those interested, I'll provide a bit of insight onto Korean honorifics. Pika is correct in the honorific "hyung," it means older brother which biological brothers as well as males in general use. If you're really close, you can drop the honorifics sometimes (ex. saying Yoongi or Yoongi-ah instead of Yoongi-hyung if the member is younger. This is called "banmal," literally translating into English as "half speak"), as you see BTS do on a couple occasions, though it's more of a funny joke with the other members replying "ya! You have to respect your hyung!" The female version of this is "unnie," which is the same principle as "hyung," it's just means older sister instead. For a female to speak to an older brother, the word is "oppa," though this is both of a term of respect and also of a term of closeness. For a male to speak to an older sister, the word is "nuna," again, same principle as "oppa." I could go into depth about the different ways you speak the Korean language in general casually v.s. formally, but that would take absolutely forever. I have seen Jimin atleast 5 to 8 feet close during a concert in 2017. It is very hard to explain his beauty. Because in pictures you will see like feminine features but then up close he has this masculine and sexy energy like your heart is getting snatched. It is difficult to explain. The reason why people gravitate to Jimin is because after they been drawn in for his looks. They then find out how amazing he is as a person. All the members are loving. But even they themselves said that Jimin is their personal angel, the one they go to when they are stressed out. He goes above and beyond for them. And recently a video came out of the boys backstage just getting off the stage and Jimin was being given oxygen. He was drained and barely catching his breath, and even then he was telling the staff to give oxygen to JK. He worries over everyone else but himself.

Hey now Jimin is something special. I think you hit the nail on the head with the Prince analogy. I love me some Prince, and not just the music, but the visuals too😏. The first time I saw Jimin up close was in 2017 at JFK airport. It was very early in the morning and oh my god. The sun was just starting to peak over the horizon and Jimin walks past the sun and he smiles. He starts glowing, almost literally. Aaah, I'm reminded of a Japanese interview they had back in.. 2014? They were so awkward and stilted, poor kids --but the interviewer was like "which one of you is popular with the girls?" and everyone pointed at V (V pointed at Jin, I think?) I think every member deserves appreciation like this and of course people will have biases. What ARMY does not like is when they think that people are saying one member is inferior to another member. I think there voices can’t really be compared in quality considering how different they sound, every voice sounds unique in an incredibly beautiful, cohesive way. Of course you can prefer one voice to another, like I love Jimin’s voice the most, but don’t think he is better than the group(the same with other members). Though everyone is allowed to have their own opinion I think that’s what ARMYS get offended about. Jimin is sometimes referred to as JM (mostly by JK and ARMY.) He is definitely androgynous. He acknowledged it as well recently with a fake tattoo during a photoshoot, and his song Filter has alluded to the idea that he is capable of becoming whatever ppl want him to be.
